Noel Deasy Cars Ltd, the difference is in our detail. Established 1980 see our high res images on www. noeldeasy. com.The Epica offers a lot of car for the money. but in the case of the Epica, you get an honest and not untalented big car at a small car price. No, it's never going to turn heads but then it won't have people scratching their chins and wondering what your driving. The handsome but slightly anonymous styling will escape many, but anybody who gets to ride in one can't fail to be impressed by the amount of space inside and the amount of equipment included as standard. This particular car has been driven and owned by us from new. first by our general manager and then our sales manager who has recently retired. This car has now finally been offered for sale at a very realistic price. We urge you to find a more refined motor at any price, it packs one of the most refined 2L, 24 V, six pot engines you will ever experience. While its not the very cheapest epica you will find its possibly the best. The car will still provide many years of trouble free motoring and will definately put a smile on your face and only a small dent in your wallet. Style & Design
6/10

The Epica is surprisingly confident in its overall execution. The detailing around the lights is simple but clean, as are the proportions and lines, which means the Epica doesn't have any 'bad' angles. It'll never be a design classic but it is rather stately and purposeful.

Performance
5/10

With a 0-100km/h time of around ten seconds the Epica isn't exactly a sport saloon. It's also less than willing in the mid-range meaning you have to work it hard to overtake or accelerate - an unpleasant experience with the ever-changing auto. A diesel is badly required.

Ride & Handling
6/10

We had expected the Epica to be an understeering mess but it actually grips well despite the six-cylinder engine out front and the comfort oriented tyres. It's miles behind the class leader, the Mondeo, as a driver's car, though, offering little feedback or involvement and a so-so ride.

Interior & Ergonomics
6/10

The cabin is rather dour but it's pretty logically laid out and easy to use. The secondary display for the stereo and climate control is a mess, though, and only the top models get a reach adjustable steering, which is a disgrace. Chevy needs to rethink the details and brighten it up.

Quality & Refinement
6/10

It's better than any previous Daewoo/Chevrolet but the Epica is only average in terms of materials and the quality of the minor controls. It's extremely solidly built and reasonably refined but others do it better for less cash.

Safety
6/10

Chevrolet has fitted every Epica with six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, seatbelt pretensioners and load limiters, but ESP and parking sensors aren't offered standard on Irish models, bizarrely. No NCAP score yet.

Space & Practicality
6/10

Space is competitive but hardly ground-breaking. The 2007 Mondeo and 2008 Laguna offer more space and more comfort, while its in-cabin storage areas and boot space are only average as well.

Value & Running Costs
2/10

While we appreciate Chevy's desire to push upmarket they got the Epica wrong. It might have a 2.0 6-cylinder engine but it's still 2 grand more than a Mondeo despite so-so looks, dynamics and equipment. No ESP and poor residuals await, too.

Equipment
6/10

All have 6 airbags, electric windows, remote locks, power steering, a CD player, air conditioning and 16-inch alloy wheels. The LT adds leather, a telescoping steering wheel, climate control, cruise control and an automatic transmission (best avoided).

Engine Specifications
5/10

Only one engine is offered in Irish Epicas, a 144hp/195Nm straight-six 2.0-litre. It's an odd engine, granted, but it's pretty smooth and even a little sweet sounding. It feels a little flaccid, though, especially with the four-speed automatic. A diesel is in the works.

30 MAY
3/5

Go out and buy one. If you liked the Camry or Maxima this car is for you. Graet spec, very roomey and comfortable. Good boot, lovely auto box, smooth power delivery. 17" Alloys. IPod connection. 10 airbags, 8 speakers , traction control, leather, heated seats.
