Had the estate version as boot space was a must, enormous boot size and unlike some others the rear seats fold flat, flush with boot liner, hand for sliding heavy loads towards front of car. Only filled boot once and was amazed with the amount I was able to fit in, carried around plenty of large loads and usually had plent of room to spare Needs regular service to avoid major problems, oil change more expensive than other manufacturers Ensure all electrics are functioning and all gears are easily selected Bought second hand from independant dealer but got an annual service from a Ford dealer, overpriced for minimal work done A lovely car to drive but a real headache to live with, engine(1.8 TDi) never let me down but constant stream of other problems. Electric mirrors would only work after holding the switch in position for at least 30 seconds, remote had a loose connection and stopped working (€120 to fix), electric window broke 3 times in 2 years, diesel pump bearing went at 93k miles, 2 coolant pipes burst, radio cuts out occasionally on speed bumps (loose anti-theft connection), gear selection cable snapped, gearbox never felt right and would often require selecting 2nd before 1st(when standing still) or 3rd(when shifting from 4th). Overall I owned it for 2 years and wont be purchasing another!.

its big enough for most people but a lip in the boot is annoying service is cheap well not that cheap be careful on how you buy cars the best looking one is not always the one and dont have over cash over the phone or credid cards details untill you mhave seen the car okey when i got the car test drove it nice car to have The ford focus is a good car nice to drive lots of grip on the road its road manners are very good, lovely gearbox styleish but the car does have some hard plastic and its not up to vw in terms of built and the 1.4 is a joke i mean the size of the car for a 1.4 is bad with no power i think its like 78bhp my fathers 2010 ford fresta has 88bhp and focus is a higher class car. but overall if want a good car nice to drive and dont want to break the bank go no further.

Good same as standard focus. has a space saving tyre 20,000 km but an entuasiast would do it every ten i fdriving hard Rimmed alloys, bald tyres and stones in the break pads esp front Downeys portlaoise..good when i bought but would not take it as a trade in this yr..disappointing but sales man Ger is top class. Great car to own..esp the 5 door version. Great speed, power and reliability. A head turner. Loved it for 3 years and still do.

Excellent boot space. One of the largest boots in its class. Reasonable service costs but service intervals are a lot further apart than most cars of its type, so costs you less in the long run. Ford dealers are excellent at servicing and don't cost much more than any other mechanics Haven't found much wrong with this car yet. Good to deal with. Always willing to help out even if your problem won't earn them money Excellent car. Arguably the best in its class. Excellent value for money and best driving car. Depending on the model, the car comes with a lot of extras as standard, a lot more than you'd get from the likes of VW and other makes for the same money..

Reasonable. Better than some in its class but worse than others. Relatively low maintenance costs. Very little goes wrong with these cars. Some cars give trouble when engine idle, car revs "pulse". Can be annoying and sounds stupid but not potentially harmful. Expensive to put right though if you want it fixed. Some cars give trouble when engine idle, car revs "pulse". Can be annoying and sounds stupid but not potentially harmful. Expensive to put right though if you want it fixed. Some services can be expensive but most dealers are reasonable and very good at their job. Good car, one of the best in its class. Great to drive, great handling, good power for its size..

Huge as in the standard Focus only better, as there is no spare tyre - you geta deflation kit instead. 20,000 but entuasiasts will change oil maybe every 8K or so to treat the girl right. Probable no rubber on tyres due to fun and possible rattles here and there due to hard suspension. Lillis O Donnell Dublin - Sarah - Excellent - kept me up to date every week or so during the 5 month wait. Car prepared beautifully and kept hidden away. If you want a good RS wait( over a year now I believe) - they are the garage to deal with. Fair play Sarah RS - Rally Sport. Two great words to describe the Jeckal & Hide Car. Tame on the way to work, monster on the way to weekend. Stunning looking and gaurenteed to put a smile on your face. Power no matter what gear or revs. It feels better than full power take off in a jet plane. Buy one before its too late.. i have been offered cost price on two occassions for mine even though theres 8,000K on the clock.Best 8K of my life..stunning piece of kit!.

Adequate - typical focus Brake pads (Brembo) are very dear Stay away from high mileage with no service history. Bought car privately in Southampton. Wouldn't get a better one in a dealership. Mint. Lovely looking car but not very fast. Likes the juice tho!.

very large space and more with the back seats down - no problem putting a lawnmover in it and shutting the back door tend not to go to ford dealerships as charge 3 times more than your local mechanic garage for the same work. Dont buy 1.4 engine - too weak for the weight of the car - get 1.6 at lease no problems there Overall - it passed my expectations from what i've heard from programs like Top Gear. It seems to be a high standard amercian car. There has been no breakdowns or anything. Suburb handling..

Have the saloon version which is very big. Coil went on it & had to get a new cat. converter which was v. expensive. Make sure the timing belt is done if you're going for one which is over 75/80k. Not impressed... Can't fault it, great car..

there is a musty smell in bolands. dont go into cubicle in mens toilet without a pen or welding rod. very weak flush. coffee in reception went straight through me. had to run out the back of hugh boggans and again at mother hubbards to release the dogs of war (take a dump). recaro seats make wearing pants a neccessity on long journies. no more naked driving for me..

I have the saloon version of this car. the boot is quite large, however,my only issue with it, is the size of the opening. That said, my last car was a 2000 Ford Focus Estate, so I'm probably spoilt on that front. Would I buy one again? - YES Would I recommend it to others? - YES Proof? - I'm currently in the middle of a deal to change over to the 2006 estate version..

New 1.6 diesel engine is very frugal I am getting serious mpg. It handles better than the old one and its quick from 50-70 without going through the gears. Never go back to petrol one after this,.

The focus is a comfortable and reliable car. Very economical as I drive over 50 miles every day and only have to fill it up once a week. Wouldn't mind if it was a bit more nippy but how fast do you really need to go?! Would definitely consider buying another one..

The 1.6 is a far better performance car than the 1.4,I have had both and would buy the 1.6 ahead of the underpowered 1.4..
