Well this is my third focus and the first diesel one. Each car has been great, making me return to the same car time after time. I have had each mark 1 2 and 3. 3 being the best, mk 1 was a great and reliable car mk 2 had the added luxury and some great touches for a standard spec, but is woefully underpowered with a 1.4 petrol engine. Mk 3 is just great so far.

I have been driving an Audi for years now and I absolutely love it. For this reason few months ago when it was time to buy a new vehicle, I decided to go for Audi again and this time I went for the new model Audi Q3 2.0 TDI . The size of the vehicle is between a SUV and a city car. The car drives extremely well, both around town and in long journeys. I picked the 4x4 version and it feels really solid. Inside the car is really spacious and it provides lot of gadgets to accompany your journey. Seats are electronically adjustable; the leather version is standard and really comfortable. The price of the car is not quite cheap but overall it is a great family car..

Rock Solid! 120k miles on the clock and it goes like a train! Very practical and economical. Boot not huge, but with seats down as big as you'd need in an estate. Not the best spec list on this car, but really comfortable and solid. I would definitely consider another Audi after this one....

Living in the city centre I had the necessity to look for a compact and easy car to handle in traffic. Looking at the new car models, I found the new supermini FIAT 500 1.2 super compact and super trendy. The line is a modern interpretation of the style of its ancestor. In this version the car is equipped with the Stop & Start devise which gives a little contribution to the environmental protection. The steering system it is very light. The comfort is good. The interior design is pretty well finished and really stylish, and the quality of the materials used is quite impressive. The space inside isn’t too small and it would fit 4 people, but the sits on the front are more comfortable and better formed than the once at the back .Pity that the compartments are few and very small, and that in front of the passenger rather than the classic drawer, there is a simple shelf with no door. The car is very light and is performing well, really great with the roof down. It is very practical and versatile in city, but it can be enjoyable on the highway too. If you are looking for a handy but solid city car with a very reasonable price, I would definitely recommend it..

Looks great, runs great, comfortable drive, good suspension, superb very smooth engine, extremely reliable, had three of them (first was given to my former wife, second was crashed). Downsides are; not much space in the boot, not very stable in the snow, being rear wheel drive, so winter tyres are recommended. There are way too many of them around, but that could be a good thing, as the spares are plenty. .

Having driven Vauxhalls and Opels for almost 25 years this loyalty was brought to an end by the Vectra. No end of hassle. Frequent suspension issues (you may say Ireland's potholes are to blame but the wife drove her Pug 206 on the same roads and that thing coped). The electrics were terrible. The dealers were incompetent. The 6 speed auto box developed a mind of its own (Toyota buyers beware - the same auto box goes in the Avensis). I was glad to see the back of this car when I traded it in for a Kia..

This is a great spacious car that is very economical to run as it is a diesel. Interior - Only issue is that the cream material seats are now filthy and any water spills brings out the colour of the black foam underneath. BMW as a brand is very expensive when officially serviced .

Extremely expensive to maintain and not as reliable as people think. Warranty Directs yearly 'Reliability Index' proves this too despite what those clowns on Top Gear would have you believe. Lots of wear on front suspension, cv joints, cv boots, ball joints, arms and links all need maintaining or replacement regularly. Strong economical engine, some issues with EGR valve, injectors and air flow meters though. Servicing at VW dealers will bankrupt you..

Fabulous car to drive, comfort and quality are excellent. The power and economy from 2.0 diesel is far superior to an Audi A4. If you have any interest in cars and want a car that is a rewarding drive, especially on twisty roads buy a 320, if you just want a car to get from A to B buy the Audi or better still buy a Skoda and save yourself a few grand !.

Great car for the price. I hate to be getting rid of it. Very reliable once regularly serviced. Obviously repairs will have to be made to any car so it's unfair to say that on a ten year old car you're not going to have some issues but overall I haven't had any major problems. Upgrading and upsizing otherwise I'd keep her for as long as she kept going. Hoping to get another Seat..

This is a great car, but I am not a fan of the back wheel drive. The consumption of diesel is very good and I get upwards of 50MPG.. Handling is good.. one major downside is that the servicing through the manufacture is very expensive if you want to keep the service history good for resale.. .

The boot space is very good. When you fold down the rear seats, you get more room for luggage and stuff. Servicing this car is very cheap to do. It costs about 110 euros. The maintenance is that to make sure that every part of the engine is working perfectly. First of all, make sure there is no nasty damage, especially on the wings, the bonnet and so on. Secondly, make sure it has good service history, then make sure there is no rust on the bodywork. Make sure the tyre's are in good order and are not worn. Make sure the suspension is in good working order too. Make sure the fluids are topped up correctly and don't forget to check the gearbox. Make sure the person who your dealing with is nice to you, and that you get a good service price. It's a 5 door Hatchback, it's spacious, it has a 5 speed gearbox, it's got 4 seats, it's good looking, it's well made, it's reliable, it's great fun to drive..

I bought second-hand and didnt really know what to look for, for me it was a bit buy as seen and luckily it's turned out to be a fantastic car. n/a A really great car. Reliable, very good on petrol, nice looks and enjoyable to drive. Although I haven't owned many cars, this is by far and away the nicest car I've ever owned..

boot space is variable. It is a bit narrow to get wide objects in but its deep and the rear seats fold down together or in a 2/1 split . nothing out of the ordinary. twice a year or every 9K miles, whichever is sooner. With a diesel model it is essential to have the vehicle serviced regularly I bought this car at an independent garage. I saved about 4 K on the main dealer price for an equivalent model. The car had no NCT, so I insisted that the NCT was passed, before I would take the car. I ended up with 4 new tyres and the emissions had to be fixed. I have always had this car serviced at a nissan main dealer (windsor bray) since I bought it, and they have been excellent. If any extras needed done, they always rang beforehand to get the work authorised. They even loaned me a courtesy car for 3/4 days as a part needed wasnt available. I found them friendly and professional. A great car. Its a bit odd at first with the gauges set in the middle of the dash, but you soon get used to it. Sometimes you creep over the speed limit without realising it. Its suitable for driving on grass in 4WD mode and it came in really handy during the big snow. I traded in a 1300 l petrol car for a 2.2 litre diesel and my running costs were about the same, except for this car is more practical. I'm going to replace it with a similar model. I like the fact its not huge, so you can still get in through narrow gaps in traffic which you might struggle to do with bigger suv's. This is really a soft-roader. Designed for main travel on road with towing ability and light off-road ability, eg towing horse-boxes, parking in fields...

The space in front is roomy when it comes to legs although if you have wider hips or thighs it can be a bit tight. The back is a little tight for three people but it works well if you don't mind squeezing in a bit. Being a sort of "sport body" also means that the internal hight has been reduced, so if you are a tall fellow, you might end up bumping your head a little now and then when entering and exiting the car. Generally a reliable car with little trouble. If you maintain it regularly with oil and spark plugs it can usually run for well over 400 000km. As long as you drive carefully the engine parts and gearbox are solid. The only issue can be the shock absorbers which may need to get changed as well as other expected wear and tear parts. Also, as with most japanese cars rust is a usual death blow, but if you keep watch and tend to what forms, then you are good to go Always check the rust. Bearing beams and wheelhouses are especially vulnerable, also push on the cars a little to check the shocks. If they seem a bit springy it's no big deal as a new set cost around 120L/pair and are quite easy to change yourself. As with most parts, this is an old car remember so it was built when people were expected do be able to do some of the repairs themselves. I bought this from a dealer who had got it as a buy-in and just wanted to get rid of it. I paid around 730L, a real underprice at the time and now five years after it has run for 200 000km and I've spent around 500L in repair costs. So for me it has been a cheap gold mine using up only around 6dl/10km on mixed driving I have used the 323F hatchback, or Astina as many prefer to call it. My version is the 16V SOCH 1.8L gas engine. The smaller one. It is a quick little car, for its specifications I find it tight in the corners and a great deal of fun on the road. It also amuses many thanks to its pop-up lights and sporty look. I have had this car for about 5 years now and although it is certainly going towards its end soon it still good piece of machinery that start and runs without complaining..

Had the estate version as boot space was a must, enormous boot size and unlike some others the rear seats fold flat, flush with boot liner, hand for sliding heavy loads towards front of car. Only filled boot once and was amazed with the amount I was able to fit in, carried around plenty of large loads and usually had plent of room to spare Needs regular service to avoid major problems, oil change more expensive than other manufacturers Ensure all electrics are functioning and all gears are easily selected Bought second hand from independant dealer but got an annual service from a Ford dealer, overpriced for minimal work done A lovely car to drive but a real headache to live with, engine(1.8 TDi) never let me down but constant stream of other problems. Electric mirrors would only work after holding the switch in position for at least 30 seconds, remote had a loose connection and stopped working (€120 to fix), electric window broke 3 times in 2 years, diesel pump bearing went at 93k miles, 2 coolant pipes burst, radio cuts out occasionally on speed bumps (loose anti-theft connection), gear selection cable snapped, gearbox never felt right and would often require selecting 2nd before 1st(when standing still) or 3rd(when shifting from 4th). Overall I owned it for 2 years and wont be purchasing another!.

Being a saloon, it was good size and seats folded flat also several cubby holes storage spaces around the cabin Let down by bad electrics, whole loom replaced under manufactures warrenty when about a year old because back electric windows stopped working. Rain sensor stopped working so I lost intermittant wash wipe and had to do manually. Finally it randomly stopped starting then would start fine the next day - why give me a card that costs €50 to get a spare instead of keys? Third strike in the space of a year so I got rid of it. Electrics load of equipment loads to go wrong - especially the keycard and starting system Dealer was good, tried their best with any issue "Sport" not really but comfortable and well equiped 1.4 petrol felt underpowered but drove well. Let down by bad electrics.

HUGE has full size spare but loads of room, seats fold flat too Side lights really tricky to replace and it goes through them I replaced with LEDs. Had to have suspensions bushes replaced, heard this was a weak point, I also have had tracking done recently. Had issue with traction control, dealer couldn't fix - managed to do it with advice from Ebay forum Had to fix brake light switch (on brake pedal) - easy fix though part is about €10 on ebay Suspension, tracking, electrics & general abuse Rubbish - felt like they were trying to get as much money off of me as possible. Had issue with Traction cotrol randomly switching off dealer performed a service and denied a problem with the system until I drove off and light came on. They kept it in for another day and couldn't tell me what problem was, charged me €500 then wanted to charge me another €500 to replace alternator and then if that didn't work they wanted to replace the ECU. Got alternator rebuit by local specialist for €60 but didn't work, found solution on internet forum broken wire.... good to drive, could do with sixth gear for motorway speeds (100km/h +) some electrical problems, dealers useless, HUGE boot for size of car. Interior feels better quality than a Skoda Fabia I drove..

its big enough for most people but a lip in the boot is annoying service is cheap well not that cheap be careful on how you buy cars the best looking one is not always the one and dont have over cash over the phone or credid cards details untill you mhave seen the car okey when i got the car test drove it nice car to have The ford focus is a good car nice to drive lots of grip on the road its road manners are very good, lovely gearbox styleish but the car does have some hard plastic and its not up to vw in terms of built and the 1.4 is a joke i mean the size of the car for a 1.4 is bad with no power i think its like 78bhp my fathers 2010 ford fresta has 88bhp and focus is a higher class car. but overall if want a good car nice to drive and dont want to break the bank go no further.

v small probably cheap and most of it DIY. But i've read a review that said it should get an oil change at 3k and filter at 6k !!!!! rust rust rust (sils, front suspension support, back wheels arches, floor) ???? WOW! :D i took one for a test drive- to see what's what. Loved it to bits... Very trilling to drive- you'll have a grin even going to sleep after a drive. the ones i've seen need lots of body work, but the rumble from the engine----specialy the ones with turbo dump valve----- when the roof it's down is like ambrosia --- food for soul. It is good to note that they are not comfy-- small wheels, hard suspensions, very close to the ground and my god they are tight inside but i am a large male sooooo.....what was i expecting... The engine (3 pot) goes up to about 9000 rpm and aparently they are highly tunable ( !!! :D).

Big enough for 3 dead drug dealers. Very easy to self service like most old cars. Change the gearbox oil every 40,000miles and coolant flush yearly to keep overheating at bay. Buy the best you can when it comes to classic BMW's. Independent dealers or private sales are your only option here. The E23 model was BMW's first entry into serious luxury motoring. Released in 1979 it was loaded with safety features including ABS. The 6 cylinder range provided more than adaquate power whilst returning better than expected MPG. The model I currently have is a rare 732i and on a recent trip from Dublin to Mayo I averaged 33mpg cruising at motorway speeds with 4 grown lads in it. This is what prompted me to keep the car and stick some tax on the window! Ouch.. They where designed for the autobann so they will motor along without missing a beat. One of the best cars I've ever owned..

MASSIVE it really has to be seen to be believed it has an opel 2.2 diesel engine so parts are fairly cheap the displays for the on board computer and heating called sids my heating one is starting to go blank and its going to cost €100 to put right thats about it though havent been to the dealer yet so not too sure had this car a few months now and love it, one of the best ive ever had its roomy, comfortable and generally a lovely place to be, even though this is the lower spec model it still has everything you could want all electric windows, full leather interior, heated seats the lot ,its a big car though makes it a bit of an effort in the car park but all round its a sweet machine oh and its a miser on diesel €100 to fill it from empty and its good for 800 miles mixed driving highly recommend.

Massive, Best in class. Ideal for childrens buggy's and the weekly shop. You will fit a double buggy in no problem which some small family hatch's struggle with. Our model is the 2006 facelift model with the indicators on the mirrors and new nose.. its boot is even bigger than the 2003-2006 model. (Dad has this older model) so very easy to compare..6" difference from back seat to boot lid. Only cost is a regular service every 12,000km. €150 with a Main Toyota dealer. ????? Very Good,Very proffesional., Mc Cabes Toyota, Drogheda. Only time I see them is when the car is due a service! Never between.. Asolutely Bullit Proof, Reliable. Will not let you down. Very well built, every thing just works all of the time as it should.Brilliantly put together car..No regular bulb changes like our other car (French Made). "Avensis is Hassle Free Driving". Huge room inside. Mine is a 1.6 petrol. good economical car 45+ MPG. Only cost is the regular service cost, every 12,000km which is €150 at a Main Toyota Dealer. Great family car Space Wise and Safety Wise, 5 Star Ncap (9 Air Bags). Flew through its first NCT..Very comfortable car. Strata model has Air Con which is a must for a family car. good for a small tall car cheap, cheap, cheap the usual for second hand cars-- important to watch for signs of neglect that will eventualy make you pay more none This was my wifes car before her SEAT Altea and as far as tools go it did the job very well. The hyundais of the past were not very complicated cars, so simple electrics and mecanics help keep them reliable and if/when things went wrong were also easy and cheap to fix. It was bought as a second car for school run and It did the job briliantly, economical, compact, big enough for 4 and also the weekly shopping run. in 3 years of ownership it didn't failed once- we kept up the service schedule and it performed as suposed to. The engine was not that pwerfull - you can actualy feel when going uphill if you have no or 3 passengers and when pushed was a bit rough but it was not intended for luxury . It was fairly economical 40-45 mpg in town. The grip in corners was tipical small car ( loosing grip at the front) but when time came to replace the firestones with new rubbers we spend a bit extra for michellin and it made a big difference. I would definatly recommend one to any one looking for simple, cheap and reliable motoring.

masive and with the back seats down it made for a great posh van the usual for any aging car- but as regards to costs for parts it did help to shop around- sometimes buying from BMW was actualy cheaper than motorfactors, and scrap yards did help as well- Must do your home work for supply The usual- watch for rust when buying UK imports Quite good actualy- for a fairly hefty hourly rate they did provide value for money in my case at least and they also washed and hoovered my car------ impressed :-)) Another one from the memory. I loved this car at first site. and it didn't disapoint. Very powerfull engine combined with the performant 5 speed auto (TDS AUTO MODEL). It was the touring(estate) version and it was masive inside and outside but very confortable and very nimble with a nice acurate steering as a BMW should be. while most of other car manufacturer (including Mercedes) still had 3-4 gears auto , bmw had come up with this 5 gears. Great for cruising at high speeds but it did drop fairly quickly when it got to any slope. the engine was fabulos - at idle speed did sounded like a bus but once you started reving it was like any other 6 pot petrol- very smooth. I did try it in a manual BMer and i did not like as regarding the power band distribution, but combined with the auto was GREAT. Quality and top engineering are typical BMW and the full leather interior looked great and were well. My car was at least 160k mls( possible 260k mls if my suspicions are correct) and was still tight and neat.

Masive as cheap as any japoneze car The usual My TOYOTA dealership experience is a painfull one- but not during the ownership of this car It's been awhile since i had this car but from memory I'll point few good thinks and few bad thinks about it. Good: Large inside comfortable easy to absorb bumps, plenty power when pushed harder (2.2l manual), good climate control. Good reliability. Bad: not as acurate steering and cornering control as german executives, the clutch (new fitted when i got it) was judering a bit in the first- I believe there was a bit too much power going to the front wheels for a heavy car and also there was a spin in the wet and loosing the line , and the wood trim(plastic copy) looked cheap for an executive motor..

Very good normal the usual none I have been driving this car now for about 10 months and I am happy with my choice. I only have the 1.9l petrol engine and ( as usual) i would have liked to be able to run a 6 cylinders engine if i could aford it. The sound from a 6 pot BMW is unmistakeble. But my engine is very quiet when warms up and it makes a nice growel when pushed a bit harder. Good power distribution through the range i find too. As regards to economy i am pleasently surprised I must say. On average in town it does about 30-35 mpg but i had a go at keeping it at 90-100 kmph on a motorway long run and the computer on board was showing @ 50mpg overall :-) The colour and body kit can make a E46 coupe look so different pending on choice! Mine is a topaz blue and not much kit on it and I think it looks a balance of sporty, elegance and subtill which does it for me. I did replace the masive 19" MOMO arrows fitted on it when i bought it for few reasons- even though maked the car look more mean and sportier- I liked...- the handling and ride felt compromised and also the cost of replacing those tires was huge so i went with elegant original OEM BMW 16" ( rare style 63). The model I have has all the extras bar from leather interior(yam, yam) end electric seats and most of it works perfect. I must say that the car feels very well screwd together but i did see samples trashed with bits hanging off - i put that mostly to careless owners.... Little to differentiate in quality feel between my old (00) E class and this (00) BM-er. The ride now in this car feels very acomplished- good road holding, sporty and stabil but not harsh and bountsy but actualy very smooth over bumps and pot halls. The tail slips a bit if you push it on wet roundabouts but the steering gives great feed back and is very acurate. Just as a note the old Continental contisport fitted originaly on the 16" alloys had a better grip on wet corners than my current new YOKOHAMA's. The interior is well designed and it does feel that is surounding the driver. because the coupe is a bit lower than average saloon getting in and out is taking use to and the doors are large so you do need a bit more space to make it confortable-- not easy in a tight car park.. For a car of this age it had a few niggles but most of them are sorted- nearly all of them tipical to e46- starter motor replaced, some sort of intake membrane and need it a new steering rack because the huge 19" have worn the original one. But it brings a smile to the face once you get inti the car..

huge in the hatchback version if you like seeing your local skoda dealer then buy one youll be on first name basis in no time everything they know their selling a dirtbox and treat you accordingly never helpful at all scrap heap! father in law bought from new and we had it last 2 years what a junker! interior looks good but is cheap and nasty wore a hole in the door just resting my elbow on it, the car developed a leak in the boot that filled with water in the spare wheel bay and started to cause mould in the car the drivers door got wet when getting into it in the rain and the electric windows stopped working the engine is quick off the mark but sounds like a tractor and rattles the whole car at the lights the radio reception is also useless you lose all the dublin stations by the time you reach citywest, i wouldnt touch one of these again if it was given to me for nothing.

mine was a commercial so was huge im a carpenter and was able to fit a full site box a huge chopsaw and stand a table saw and loads of other tools and still have plenty of room if the wife did the shopping in i!t bit pricey especially the oil i used gtx magnatec and it takes nearly 2 full drums cost about €100 a go but hey you get what you pay for the throttle position sensor went in mine and cost €600 to put right dont know if this is common though excellent, bit pricey as i said but they know these things inside and out what can i say king of the road, best vehicle ive ever had i ran up 75,000 miles on this jeep in 2 years and it never let me down apart from 1 small sensor in the throttle which was just included in the next service. i ran up an average of 120 miles a day in this jeep and when id get home in the evening i felt like i had been sitting in an armchair! extremely comfortable beautiful jeep too in my opinion its much nicer than the latest model plenty of power too when the turbo kicks in theres not much that can catch up to her, only thing i didnt like about the jeep was that ac wasnt standard i had leather and it got a bit sticky in summer!.

dissapointing ,theres a sort of ramp thing in the salloon between the bulkhead for the seats that limits how much you can get in id say the hatchback is massive though whenever you get around to servicing it you'll be pleased with the low cost the visia is the base spec no reversing camera or alloys go for the tekna or acenta if you can afford it or the ultimate primera the t spec cant fault them i bought the car on a saturday afternoon and sat evening had a problem with the electric windows the garage sent a mechanic over straight away this is a good car seriously good i traded up to this from the almera and noticed the difference immediately its solidly built huge interior and looks cool inside and out money was tight when i owened this car and couldn't afford to service it regularly ran up 28000 miles between a service and when i brought it in only needed new brake pads and an oil and filter change ! only issue i have with this car is the rear bumper comes to a point in the middle and the visia model doesnt have the reversing camera which would have made things a bit handier for the wife all in all though a great family car would highly recommend to anyone.

I've had to replace the CAT but lucky to find one on ebay 400 sterling also a dash board cluster €700 and a fuel pump ...........its due its next timing belt so €600 est. but its all worth it ...all round great car and still a head turner. couple of other small issues but google helped save a few euros . Biggest issue at the moment is , it has become very thirsty ONLY 275 miles for around €75-€80 ..........trying to figure out what gone wrong.............I used to get nearly 400 miles to a fill. Massive! The boot is huge and with the seats folded flat you could live in it. Service is pricey enough - I don't use a main dealer as I've 176k kms up on it so there's no point. Anytime I have gone to a main dealer I've come away a lot poorer. The one thing you should look out for but you can't is the injectors! There's four of them and so far two of mine have gone without warning! It's €1000 a pop to replace them and you have no way of knowing if or when they might go again. Bushes wearing are a common fault (failed my last NCT because of one). Rear wiper motor had to be replaced which again was not cheap. Just before Xmas 2010, I got a leak in the coolant system - steam everywhere. The replacement part is €100 and it takes 10 working days to get it!!! WTF? No car for two weeks because the dealer doesn't stock bog standard parts? Luckily a local garage was able to patch me up free of charge while waiting for the part. Apart from buying it from a dealer I've not been back to them except to get the major jobs mentioned above done. Like all VW dealers, they know how to charge for parts. Large comfortable car - mine is an estate. The Highline has plenty of extras like leather, cruise, heated seats etc. Performance is excellent and comfort on long or short journeys is second to none. I forgot to mention, it's also an automatic with the DSG gearbox which is super smooth. On average I'm getting 6.6l / 100km which is quite good for a big automatic car..

below average madly expensive service history, cosmetic damage to 18 inch wheels - they can be reapired but at around €150 each ok - but then youre paying handsomely for it Bought this car brand new for €48.5k. Its now worth under 20K primarily thanks to the Green Party's emission changes. Its a lovely car to drive and for a 1.9 is very quick. Frankly though Im starting to think its been a bit of a pain. For a start the run flat tyre sensors keep indicating there is a puncture when there isnt and resetting it doesnt work The traction control mangement system went at 19,000 miles and just outside warranty. In fairness BMW paid for the part (€700) but I had to fork out €400 in labour. Because its a nice looking car and we live in a nation of begrudgers its been keyed twice - total cost €1,500. The cost of servicing is extortionate. Dealers charge €200 per hour labour and your'e generally lucky to get away with a bill under €600. Would I buy another one? Probably not - I've had a variety of so called inferior marques that never gave the trouble this did and cost half the price. If you have to buy one for god's sake dont buy new..

Boot space and general cabin space is very good. "Best built cars in the world?" more like the "Most recalled cars in the world." I can't understand Toyota's reputation for reliability this was the least reliable car that I've ever owned, in and out of the dealer like a yo-yo. Never again. Avoid D4D engine. Unfriendly and had to argue with them to get my warranty entitlements. AVOID! Now I know why Toyota are the "most recalled cars in the world" because they're junk. I wanted a reliable car for big mileage and lots of people said go for an Avensis. To be honest I didn't like the look of the car and the interior has a cheap feel but it made sense because I expected it to be reliable and it would have a good resale value. So I replaced my Opel Vectra, big mistake! I had constant problems with the D4D engine, this is an inferior copy of the Fiat Commonrail engine. Opel buy these Fiat diesel engines and I had one in my old vectra but the Toyota engine just doesn't compare, it's less powerful, less responsive and constantly gave problems. I also had to replace my starter motor, alternator and water cooler. €€€€€.

I can fit my tennis bag and a football in it and that is about it. But the rear seats are split to aid with different loads and the rear bench folds flat in the back and the boot entry is square and large so with 2 people on board you can have a big boot if you fold the rear bench so far I only changed the timming belt (reasonable priced I think) and bought 4 new Michelin tyres for the cost of 1 good tyre for my old Mercedes. So far so good but i'll keep you posted.... general rules apply none I like this little bugger. At the front it feels as big as a car 2 classes bigger but at the back it is ok for kids. I don't think it is too comfy in the back on a longer drive but it is design for short city drives so that explains it. It feels very solid and the interior is top notch for a little car. much better than my previous Ford Ka. The engine is 1 Lt only with about 50 bhp and it is ok in town because the gear box has close ratio. I can keep it in the 5-th gear most of the time. The compromise is at speed were the engine goes at 3-4000 rpm at motorway speeds. So town drive it is. It feels nice on the B roads too but don't try risky overtakes because the power is not there to back you up. I do get 40-45 mpg in Dublin city drive and the ride is comfy for a car of this size. I could say that for 1-2 people it offers great advantages in cost to run it, in how it feels to drive and overall quality plus it is very nippy in town. If you plan to carry more passengers or drive a lot at high speed maybe consider a Golf.

for its size and purpouse it is sufficient but there were no split rear seats to help with bigger loads. cheap and simple to service. I had problems with the electric heater valve( it was stuck in the hot position) and it looked a bit difficult to replace when the mechanic replaced it and the induction coil need it to be replaced also( ebay is cheapper...). Those appear to be most common faults with the Ka's in general. see above none I only had it for 3 months. Unfortunately I crashed into a van and the chassis was bent as a result. So not very strong (3 star ENCAP crash protection). I found the interior a bit on the cheap side and overall not as refined as my current VW Lupo. The engine was free reving but not very economical- it is quite old design. The drive was involving and the steering very direct but as most of the small cars there is understeer when pushed a bit..

In that time its had 2 New EGR valves New MAP 4 new injectors + plugs New battery Broke down 3 times Car lost all power while driving on the motorway - not even the power steering worked. Over all this is one of the worst cars I've owned ( the other being a Fiat seicento) as I can't wait until I get well rid. ( it's in the garage again at the moment as it broke down last Thursday ) The EGR valve - it's a known issue on these cars. Also the MAP sensor. N/A I have a Saab 9-3 1.9 TiD Vector sport 150hp. The car is very plush and comfortable to drive. Also it goes like stink but has some major mechanical defects to watch out for..

More than enough space .. i put 12 gear bags in there last week on the way to a match and there was still space left Tricky .. Super strut need service every 4000/5000 KMs and can be VERY VERY costly to replace/maintain, one strut is 350 euro approx !!! Macpherson is MUCH MUCH cheaper and more suitable for irish roads in my opinion and costs and needs less to be maintained.. Struts !! when taking ur potential new Levin for a test drive check to see 1)is the car handling noticeably stiff 2)if the car veers left/right when u brake suddenly (when not on a sloped part of road) 3)any rattling when car is moving Tell tale signs that a strut may need to be replace .. I bought mine privately so i had to do these checks myself, make sure u look underneath the car for rust and also under all wheel arches in the front (to check struts and arms) and the wheel arches in the back (for bushings) switched from 1.9 TDI passat to BZR levin .. delighted i made the switch. MY levin has Macpherson strut, i heard this can cause problems as it was changed from super strut so brought it to my mechanic to take and he said its perfect condition. Car drives like a dream, definitely more comfortable than super strut and just as good at cornering. BZR can br driven as a normal 1.6 car and be VERY economical but if u get bored of that theres always 200 ponies waiting for a race :-).

Do a car check (Cartell or other) just to verify mileage owneship etc. Bought mine private. WOW what a surprise! Really pleased with my car I cannot understand why everyone does not drive one. I did not realise that the VRT was subsidied by €2,500, less tax = more car for your money. €2 a week road tax and 50 MPG make running costs pretty painless. Roomy cabin it seats 5 easily. Took a while to get used to it Auto Save cutting out at lights, but by the time you move your foot from brake to accelerator it is up and running again. But it was the normality of the drive that impressed me, Hybrid Myths are rubbish, it is nippy, cruises at 120KmHour easily and if you need to accelerate to overtake the battery kicks in and there is a good surge even at high speed. Not really a glamour car but all in all a cracker..

Adequate for a couple of bags of shopping but not your average trip to the garden center. Reasonable costs, everything easliy available. Not a car for regular long distances or a lot of motorway miles. Not quick under acceleration and fuel consumption, even for a 1.2 petrol engine is alarmingly high if you are trying to maintain pace with other road legal traffic (100kms). Ideal city car or local runabout. Check wear on drivers seat, as it is not very supportive and prolongued use may be uncomfortable. Check brakes for vibrations and rattles from suspension, particularly the front. Dealers a little thin on the ground, but most Opel dealers will be able to handle your requirements as they are from the same stable. Car reviewed, 1.2 petrol model. Basic car, though reasonable spec with electic windows all round front fogs etc. Good starter car..

Cant beat the Volkswagen dealers they helped me with everything also my car came with a full warranty and a year AA roadside assistance. This is my second Touran ive had a 2004 trendline and i traded up to a 2008 trendline in June 2010 both 1.9TDI though the 2004 diesel is very loud and unrefined though the 2008 one i have is great and a less noisy im very happy with my purchase i got a lot of extras on mine including tinted windows, front fog lights, chrome roof rails and bluetooth phone preperation. The 3rd row of seats are for children but adults could sit there for short journeys the 2nd row of seats are great and very spacious and the driver and passanger seats have lumber support. The Cd auto changer is a huge help stopping Cds from getting scratched because you store the Cds in them. If its image your after from an mpv get the tinted windows on the touran and the chrome roof rails it looks great with the chrome grill..

Fantastic boot space, this is mainly due to the space needed for the roof. when the roof is down you still have space but it is significantly reduced when the roof is down. very little maintenance bar your usual annual servicing. although ive never had the disadvantage of having anything wrong with my car, the garage have told me that the parts are in the same price range as you would expect to pay for regular renault. nothing in particular but i note from others saying they never had anything but problems - they must have been unlucky - id buy again. The only thing about the renault convert is that they dont come with a spare wheel.. but on the other hand there is space to store one. in the event of puncture you have a cannister to inflate the wheel until you can get to a garage to service. I purchased from Renault Garage in athlone and i can honestly say they are a great garage to deal with 1.6 Cabriolet Convertible, Great Car, never gave any trouble only the cable became disconnected under the drivers seat when cleaning simple to plug in again, a real head turner and great miles i got 410miles from €50 petrol, its the most comfortable car i ever drove. The driving position is excellent. As a sufferer from back problems I find it difficult to get a good supporting driving seat, the renault megane convert is the first car that i can honestly say has a seat that serves its function corectly - the sides have supports and your head actually rests on the headrest. everything on the dash is located within easy access. the automatic wipers and lights are great. I particularly liked the fact that the renault is fitted with Isofix for child seats..

Mine is an import, didnt import it myself but it had its' NCT and relevant documentation, if you find a good import it's great because thay usually have more equipment. Went to a citroen dealer to pick up some paint to patch it up (small dent and scratch on boot) but they seemed to ignore and avoid me, was disgusted and walked out. Great little car, good interior room for the size of the car and surprisingly comfortable. Cheap to tax, run and insure! its slow but you cant expect anything else from a 1.1! rd noise aint great either but equipment is good-cd, c/l, e/w, a/b, immob., s/r, f/lights! bought it for 1900euro in summer 09-fully-nct'ed and taxed, delighted with the buy still 6 months on!.

Great Reasonable, and can be handled by most compentant home mechanics Rear bumbers prones to scuffs, and for diesel, make sure timing belt has been done Excellant Wifes car, bought demo from Phoenix Motors, Prussia Street. Lovely car, with high spec being the Elegance model. 1.9 TDI (90 bhp) which was surprisingly quick. Very economical, with a huge boot, especially with the rear seats folded. Only fault, was our model did not have rear wiper which is a must as rain has a tendency to lodge on the back window at low speed, making rear visability difficult. Also, if you are not good at judging distances, parking sensors will be a requirement in order to avoid bumber scuffs for the same reason. That aside, highly recommended..

Decent enough for a Hatchback, but not for a golfer.... Very poor, ordering parts very slow, VW Assist would only provide a car for 2 days even though repairs would take nearly 2-3 weeks.. Even when returned the courtesy car late by 2 hours, was charged €50... The price, shop around.. cheaper cars than you think in some garages.. insist on a warranty.. Dealer service was a joke, experienced all over the country, Ignorant, brush their hands... pass it on.. Experiences in Dublin, Limerick, Clare, Galway, Tipp... even sent it to cork... Im from Clare and no-one could find the faults... Best Service that I recieved, and found that they actually cared was the VW Dealer in Wicklow town, Think it was Sinnotts.. Stay far away as posisble, Disaster from the first day I got it.. Unreliable is an understatement.

It's not the biggest when it comes to boot space. When going on our hols, we find that we can fit in a big suitcase, and the two carry-bags, but the second suitcase has to go into the back seat. Having said that, it'll take all the weekly shopping easily, and as we only go on holidays once, maybe twice a year, the limited space doesn't really impact us much. The engine compartment is a testament to the engineers' ability to cram as much as possible into a tiny space. You'd be hard put to get your hand around any part of the engine without stripping flesh. However, the majority of us send the car off to the garage rather than getting our hands dirty, so no worries there. Unless... those of you who have tried to change the headlight bulbs yourself will understand my frustration. How do they expect you to get into the headlamp without dislocating your wrist and breaking at least two fingers first? We bought this from a dealer as an "almost new" ex-hire drive. The only thing I wish I'd noticed was some poorly covered up paintwork, where it had obviously been dented or banged. I didn't notice until a couple of months later, by which time it was argued that I couldn't prove when it had happened. "Let the buyer beware", so goes the saying, so just look carefully at everything before you sign on the dotted line. I have to admit that my first choice of dealer involves cost rather than marque. If they happen to be a Renault dealer, then great! My first experience getting a basic (not full) service with a Renault garage involved my laughing out loud at the guy behind the counter on receiving the bill (I kid you not). I knew him, and thought he was just pulling my leg. €230 for an oil change?! I was not best pleased, and needlessly to say, it wasn't a Renault garage I went to for the full service. The Clio is a lovely looking car, both inside and out. It handles pretty well for a small car, and the 1.2 petrol engine does a decent job of getting us from A to B. The only gripe that I have is the gearing ratio. Having had a 2000 Corsa 1.2 before the Clio, I was used to being able to get plenty of topline acceleration every time I put the boot down. With the Clio, if you really want a bit of oomph to overtake that guy in front of you, you have to drop a gear and mash the pedal. It's not necessarily bad, just different. Apart from this, it's a good car, with plenty of space inside, and a nicely laid out dashboard/controls..

The boot is not v big- think fiesta/corsa size. There is a hybrid battery fitted behind the rear seats that take some of the space. The back seats do recline(40/60split) so you can expand your boot size and shape What everyone fear about this car! The hybrid system does not need any servicing. The car is as easy to service like any other car. Actualy is very easy and cheap to maintain- the oil required is quite standard, but less than other engines, and because it uses regeneration system for the brakes-well before all this fancy cars nowadays- you don't need to change the brake pads or disks any sooner than maybe 100-120k miles !!! And the engine has a timing chain and not a belt so you don't have to worry about that either. As regards to any other parts, I read that some of them are interchangable with other toyota cars( RAV4, corolla) and they are not that expensive to purchase anyway. MAKE SURE THAT THE HYBRID SYSTEM IS NOT FAULTY( BATTERY, GENERATORS, ETC). That would make for very expensive repairs. The bodywork is alluminium-so NO RUST ever- and make sure that it wasn't involved in a havy crash or stuck in a big flood. My story is long and still paintfull. Details can be supplied at personal request. For the time I owned the Prius(bar from the initial trouble) I could not fault it. V economical, V smooth and confortable, V reliable as toyota reputation stands. My experience with one specific TOYOTA dealer was exceptional. Open to consultation, advice and ( unusualy for a main dealer) getting involved with repairing and maintaining my car(..... jap import.......). However I am not so impressed with TOYOTA corporation to the level that It will be awhile before I'll buy another one of their products.(part of my long story....) this review may not be relevant to many but I would like to share my views to the world. This model was originaly sold in Ireland but in very small numbers(the price new and new technology were the main deterents). My car(sold now) came as private japanese import. It had v few differences from the Irish model- all cosmetics-. As a normal car Prius came with lots goodies- to many to list- at a level found normaly in luxury cars. The ride of the car is v comfortable- the suspension setting offered a silencious ride-but at a cost of control in the corners. It doesn't like to be rushed through the bends. It's concept is based on smoothness and economy and not on a sporty drive. The gear box is a CVT type- common on many hybrid cars -and for easy understanding works a bit like the one in a moped. there are no specific gears that change but it is always changing pending on necesity. it takes awhile to get use to it before you can make the best of it. The engine is a bit different than normal OTTO cycle. It is design to work with this type of gearbox and it has a low torque and it is designed for low emissions and economy. It is a bit rough at high revs but together with the hybrid system offer as much power as a standard 2 litre engine. If you ignore the way the hybrid system works and the noise of the engine when you accelerate harder, you will never lack the power. THE ENGINE NOISE TOGETHER WITH THE ECONOMY DISPLAY REALLY TEACHES YOU TO DRIVE V ECONOMICAL. The car is economical anyway but by learning from it you can expect 50-60mpg in town and on the open road. The steering of the car is electricaly assisted and doesn't offer much feel to it. For soft comfy drive it is good enough..

huge boot. The back seats do not recline so for longer loads hire a van! So far I've changed a couple of bulbs and I had to change the shock absorbers. It appear that it still had the original ones so it was not to bad performance from mercedes. I enquired at a mercedes dealership for the price for new ones and I found it expensive so I had to source them on the www and I found them at a reasonable price- not more expensive than for other car brands. for the labour i've employed a independent mechanic that didn't charge at a dealership rate. however, fast fit had a package price for supply and fit that was as reasonable as for any other car. my conclusion is this: if money is no object you probably should buy a newer merc, so you can ignore my review, but if you crave for a nice luxury car at bargain price, than learn to do your homework when it comes to service and maintanance and get the best deal you can and where you can. for an older car there are lots of things to watch for. i would advice to look for signs of big crashes and repairs and rust to the chassis and undercarriege. also would be ideal to get a full service history but in Ireland it is not likely. there are some clues on how the car was treated in the overall condition. A person that is careless with the inside and outside of the car would morte likely be careless with the servicing and viceversa but it is not always the rule. Make sure you test the car properly and you bring an experienced mechanic with you. The mercedes in general are capable of big mileage and because they are well built they may not always show theyr mileage so they can be subject to clocking. The clue on the qualities of this type of car can also be found in the high number of them beeing used as taxis all over the world. Limited with the mercedes dealership. When I was in the workshop I found them helpfull and professional. as regards to labour and parts cost they are expensive. but customers who are using their services probably will never notice anyway I must warn you first that my review may not be fully objective. I always wanted a Merc( I love specialy the older ones) so try to read between the lines as well. I have the '00 E200 Kompressor with the cream leather interior and I think it is v elegant overall- with a good polish and a valet it's still looks and feels like a luxury car (despite the age and beeing a v popular taxi car...) My model is the facelift model( from 00-02) and for the people in the know it offers few extra bits. The confort inside is almost 10 out of 10. It has precise controls- precise steering and breaking response, and the AUTO gear is extreamly good. The engine is only a four pot( I would have preffered a 6 or 8 cylinders) but the power is adequate with the help of the supercharger. The gear box is realy making up for the size of the engine. There is little difference in power and economy betweem a 2.4lt V6 and my 2lt supercharge engine except the tax is cheaper in Ireland but the 4 pot is noisier. I enjoy the sound of a 6 or 8 cyl engine better but my budget is not unlimited. The suspensions on the merc are not as soft as I expected but it makes for a confortable and very reasured drive( not wobbly like in cars with air shocks or poor design suspension system). It is very well put together. my car has over 110k miles but it still feels tight and rattle free, and everything still works- electricals, mechanicals including 6CD changer. I found the original stereo simple to use and has a decent sound. This is a NICE CAR..

A deep boot with a second underfloor compartment, with split rear seats(40/60), and also you can adjust the position of the backrest to suit, it has never lack the space we required. we had serviced the Altea only at main SEAT dealers and I didn't think they were to expensive. Also, in the past, they use to give us a replacement car but not anymore. Under the warranty they've changed the stereo- it is linked via optic fibre and it used to start on it's own when the car was parked at night. Also they've replace the stearing rack under the warranty, because it had a "clonking" noise at full right stear that they could not identify so they chose to change the rack- got rid of the noise It had a The first NCT passed with no problems and recently I had a FREE safety check at a FAST FIT outlet and I was told it has NO faults. The engine oil is a syntetic and specific for this type of engine and that makes it expensive(12- 16 € per litre in normal shops). Probably cheaper when purchasing a gallon. it is a family car so watch out for messy trim because you may not be able to find replacements cheap. I would also recomend a car with full service history- specialy for diesels. see service and maintanance it has an unusual shape. in the right colour it is a “looker”. it behaves well on the road. it feels better at higher speeds because the suspensions are on the hard side. inside is very spacious and seats are hard but well shaped. It has high seating. My in laws love it because it offers easy access for the older and not so fit people. The engine is a well proven 1.9 tdi from VW group. It is not v economical( it avg around 40mpg for city drives and around 45mpg at motorway) but I found it great for torque and overtaking is a v easy even in the 5-th gear. It only has 104 BHP but it is powerful enough for the size of the car even when fully loaded but I found it a bit noisy at low revs.I am not sure about the A pillars because are a bit wide so they create a considerable blind spot and the rear window is quite small as well. But so far, with extra care, you learn to manage OK. I find the gearbox precise and it feels a bit high geared(it’s like the car has 6 forward gears but they forgot to put in the first gear…..does it make sense????) Overall it feels great, well put together, and gave us 4 years of good honest service..

It has plenty of boot space for a medium sized hatchback. I get it serviced with a main dealer and paid €140 for first service and €190 for the second and have never had a single issue to date with the car. If it was possible I would buy one with the Seat factory fitted bluetooth as it's brilliant.I've driven the petrol only in a 1.6 litre and it's way underpowered, it's like a completely different car and I wouldn't touch it, definitely would only buy the diesel version. Bought the car from Ryans in Main Street in Blanchardstown and couldn't speak highly enough of them.First class friendly service where you're made feel very welcome and where you're custom is appreciated. Very stylish.spacious, economical and plenty of torque when needed for overtaking. For a diesel you can really throw it into a bend and it sticks to the road superbly. It has one of the easiest clutches on your left foot that I've ever encountered and makes for effortless driving.I get an average of 900 KMH to a tank and this is for mostly city driving, even better on the open road..

Huge boot A few little issues but bullet proof otherwise. timing belt is an expensive job, every 60k miles, but shop around for prices. Imported cars need mileage check, very easy to clock these cars. if you looking for a 130bhp beware most people can't tell the difference by driving the car. The only way to check is to check in the boot beside the spare wheel, there is a sticker with the VIN number, it also have the KW rating if this is not 97KW its not a 130BHP. don't be fooled by at red DI on the boot or engine cover. GSF in dublin for parts avoid main dealers as they are a rip off. Very comfortable car, excellent for long journeys or the long daily commute. Always look for the comfortline with A/C, arm rest etc.

Good but not a square shape so it might not take a wardrobe. Seats fold down, but not flat and the cd changer is mounted on one of the seat backs so it can get in the way. Spare wheel is a full size steel wheel under the boot floor which is nicely carpeted. I change the oil every 10,000 miles with fully synthetic oil. I've changed both the air and fuel filter since I've had it. I changed the rear shocks and the anti roll bar links and bushings to smarten up the handling. It needed a new spring for the NCT last time. I also had to change the ignition barrel. this is a known problem with these cars. The barrel wasn't too dear but the new steerign lock was eye wateringly expensive. New keys from BMW are cheap enough too. Check the ignition barrel to see if it's stiff etc. They've got timing chains so they don't usually need changing as long as oil changes are regular wtih good quality oil. Check the tracking arms on the back wishbones if the pins or more stuff is worn you'll start wearing tyres and the handling gets sloppy. Check the paintwork if it's a metallic colour, see if the lacquer is lifting. Rust isn't a bit problem, you can get touch up kits from halfords for fixing stone chips and small rust spots. Due to the age of the car I bought it privately and do most of the servicing myself. i've bought parts from J Donohue the local dealer and they are good. Some parts can be quite dear so check the internet first. Some US sites are brilliant for new german car parts. Ebay can be good too. This is the TDS model with the 1699 CC engine. Brilliant economy for such a big heavy car. Very practical and loads of room for stuff including the dog, who loves travelling in the boot. I don't even need a dog bar for her. It had a 6disc pioneer stereo when I bought it but I've replaced both the head unit and the changer to a 12 disc changer. The rear seat space is tight enough but I rarely have back seat passengers. Sunroof, front windows and door mirrors all electric. It came with lovely alloys too. I like driving it as it feels really solid and safe on the road and great fun too. I'd definitely recommend one to anyone wanting a sporty economical estate..

Excellent.. Room for a massive guitar amp, two large guitar cases and accessories... Haven't had it long enough to give accurate answer but seem ok... Front bumpers can be badly fitted.. I've seen numerous A4's of a similar year with a slightly loose front bumper so just check before you buy. Like all German dealers they are needlessly expensive so I will just be going to my local mechanic.... Good enough to convert me from Japanese cars to German cars completely... Comfortable, Well made and a quality feel. and decent handling Ive only had it 3 months but Ive already put 5000 miles on it. The suspension is spot on. It manages to be soft enough that you barely feel any bumps, yet stiff enough in the corners that you get hardly any body roll at all. The interior is as you'd expect. It has worn well and still has a nice quality to it. Even though its only the 90 bhp model it uses it well. It overtakes better than a 140 bhp petrol car I had before this one, and is in my opinion quieter than modern Audi's or Vw's. The absolute best thing though is the fuel consumption. Even driving it hard I average between 55 and 60 mpg... All round its a good car that suits nearly everyone from a twenty something single guy to a mother with 3 kids....

Big boot space for small car. Also, back seats fold down flat and boot lid can be taken out easily, making it easy to fit bulky goods. Easy to keep clean and maintained. Car nearly 10 years old and still going strong and spotless too. Recently serviced and passed NCT without a hitch. When buying second hand I would recommend a 5 door version. 3 door sometimes can be awkward. Also, the zetec engine may be more sturdy and reliable. 2nd Car. Ford fiesta, 2000, 3 door hatchback. Silver in colour, with 75000 miles on the clock. Used for the college run and other small uses. Ideal starting car with a 1.3 litre engine. Reliable car with low fuel and tax cost. Bought 2 years ago and hasn't missed a beat..

Very spacious for a saloon car. It's a recent purchase so I haven't had to service it yet. It has slim tyres which I believe are expensive to replace. Damaged alloys. Bought secondhand through a non Mercedes dealer. Pleasant experience. A quality car. Is a spacious, solid, very comfortable & has a lot of features e.g. sporting alloys, parking sensors, welcome home lights, CD autochanger, multi function steering wheel, CD changer, built in phone cradle etc. It's reasonable econonical, 1.8L engine which is a Kompressor and is pretty lively especially in Sport mode..

If you had a family or needed a lot of boot space look elsewhere Long service maintenance ie every 18000 miles and every second service is just an oil service Dont have any problems with mine apart from a noisey thrust bearing Absolutely 1st class, got some warrenty work done just before the car was over its 3 year deadline with no problem I have this car 2 years and 50k miles later I am still as happy to drive it as the day I got it, it has a fantastic combination of power (150bhp) and economy (50+mpg) that coupled with low maintenance costs make it a fab all round car to own...........10/10 !!!.

Very little service can be carried out cheaply due to abundance of parts Jap imports none We have owned this car from new and it has never once missed a beat!75000miles later it recently flew through its NCT without problems!Still looks better than alot of its more modern rivals in my opinion, handles fantastic and 1300cc engine is gutsy enough for its size!Only downside is space and equipment levels unless your buying an import or like our own got the additional sports pack which included alloys elec windows and cd player!Fantastic buy which id recommend to anyone!.

lots of boot space when doing timing belt at 54k you can only buy the kit from main dealer approx 400 euro. there is two rubber bungs in the kit that are paper thin and if you damage one you must buy the two again at about 30 euro. have to break them initially to get them out. shocks go aswell electrics. windows mirrors etc good. they will give you a very good deal on these cars so dont feel pressure. walk away and you will be called back the laguna 1.8 super sport is a relatively good car mechanically wise and causes vey little problem. there is issues with the electric window winders and both will have to be replaced by time the car is 5 years old. fuel consumption is about 34 mpg. poor resale value. can be picked up for 1500 euro.

Usefull Timing belts essential. if belt breaks it takes the engine with it!!!! Timing belts. Condition and levels of oil and coolants. Front brake pads and tyres. reasonable, especially for parts and advice. 3.0 litre petrol MV 6. Lovely car, well spec'd, full leather pack, pity about the plastic wood effect. Very quick car for its size, let down by disposable engines that run too hot. Also front suspensions not strong enough for the weight. Difficult to work on engine, but to tight fit in engine bay..

Very good, Split rear seats also fold flat for added space Routine service every 10,000 miles, everying available for the home mechanic in most motor factors. Mind you, when you tell them its a Volvo S70 with a 2.5 tdi, they will deny such a car exists, until you tell them, its the Audi engine, and then they can usually find what you are looking for. Timing belts, theres 2 of them. Leather tends to be standard in the petrol versions, not in the diesels. if you find one, buy it. They tend to be high mileage, which means quite a bit of wear to the drivers seat, make sure it gives adequate support. reasonable for parts etc, stear clear for normal servicing, which any competent mechanic should be able to do for themselves. 2.5 TDI, engine is the Audi sourced variant, bullet proff reliability, 50 mpg. Interior is a bit boring, but if you are looking for a cheap no nonsense workhorse its highly recommended. In my 2 years of drinving it, covering 80,000 miles I had no real issues, save for a Toyota Avensis, that wrote itself off after driving into the Volvos front driverside quater panel. Damage to the Volvo, 1 headlamp lens, and 1 wing. Drove home, Avensis, dragged away on a truck. 1 - 0 to the Volvo. Through a timing belt at 120,000 miles, no damage to the engine. replaced belt, started engine, drove home..

Good, howver, lack of folding rear seats is a pain. I had the car for 2 years, changed the oil and filters myself, car never missed a beat in 40,000 miles. Tyres are expensive, Lexus supplied alloys, prone to flaking and are nothing to write home about. RS 8's look well, so if the original alloys are still on the car, make sure you are happy with their condition, otherwise budget for the purchase of an after market set. Lexus dealets are thin on the ground, but most Toyota dealers will provide cover. Northern Ireland dealers are better value for money. 3.0 litre petrol, full lether pack as standard. Fine car, although looks a little quirky from the outside, mind you, its easy to forget that when you are wrapped up in its luxary. Considered to be an E Class equivalent, in my opinion, it is a nicer drive..

Excellant, being an estate, with the seats folded, I manged one day to get a full size walking exercise machine loaded into it. very practicle load area. Great family alternative to an MPV. Volvo main dealers are expensive, but normal servicing can be carried out relatively easily by competent individual. Tyres are expensive, and with all that power, 258 BHP, very easy to get through. I had some electical niggles, in the 2 years that I drove it. Make sure everything works and no lights on the dash. Quite approachable for parts etc. Servicing costs high though. V70 T5, 2.5 Petrol estate. Cracking car, very quick, manual, however clutch a little heavy, especially in city traffic. Running costs what you would expect, 30 mpg. Very well equipped. Highly recommended alternative to the usual Mercs and BMW's..

Excellant, easilt fits golf clubs and prams, etc Easily done by myself, great car to work on. Nothing really if its diesel out of the norm none, bought 2nd (9th) hand. A fantastic car for one with over 8 owners and 220k miles. The normally aspirated deisel engine (leftover from the 190D model) is a pleasure to drive and maintain. It easily returns over 45mpg on mixed use driving. The car comes with Power steering, electric windows and sunroof, centre armrest and many other extras for a car of its vintage. I sometimes drive my wifes 03 Almera, and it does absolutely nothing to me, it is a far inferior car to the Merc, even though it is 9 years newer..

Boot space is not big but as you start filling it up you can be surprised by the amount of stuff you can actually put in. The wheel arches are not too intrusive on the boot space allowing for more storage. Perfect for to go at the weekend with the kids and the dog but still to take on board what you need for the holidays… Only have this one for 2 months so it hasn’t gone through one yet but this is our 3rd Volvo so far and I bring them every 10k or so for their normal service and nothing else to declare. Service history is key to know the car history. Mileage is not too important as they can go on for ages and even more so if they’ve been serviced regularly by a main service dealer. Koping motors have been fantastic so far and my experienced with them has been much better then with other brand well known garages I won’t name which were more expensive and delivering a less then acceptable service. Very much underrated car. Granted you feel being in a tighter confinement and it has less space then our previous XC70 but still amazed by the amount of stuff we were able to bring back from our last trip in France at the summer. It has all the spec you need in a modern car and more. Where else would you find full leather, auto wipers, skid control, trip computer, 4CD changer, dual-climate control and 17” alloys as standard. It looks great, somehow different from other car styling and that’s a good thing. It’s sharp and responsive to drive. You really fee in control and the “floating” middle consol is just simply brilliant. The only one it this category I would consider would be the BMW 320d but still putting the Volvo ahead as you get more for your euros..

Excellant, especially with the seats folded. caution required though as plastic trim is very easy to mark. Also, boot cover is a little on the flimsy side, so avoid letting "heavy handed" souls put it in place, if you want to keep it intact. No major issues, 12000 kms interval is a bit on the short side, but routine service costs €150 - €180. Full service history essential. Make sute no waring lights on the dashboard. Some isses reported with the Cat Converter, make sure engine management light is off. Tyres are expensive, so check these, if these not much life left in them, "haggle hard!. Full set will cost €600 plus. Finnegans Ballymahon, highly recommended. The lads are true petrol heads, though now that Subaru has a diesel, they have had to embrace this technology. Wifes car, bought demo model from the main dealer after previously having the Forester. 2.5 petrol model, heavy on petrol and tax, but roadholding is superb. You get very used to driving it and if you find yourself driving something else it always pails in comparison to the Outback..

Absolutely enormous, you don't have to plan what to take with you on a trip, just bring everything!!. I fitted the automatic boot lid as an extra and find it a great help, especially when my wife uses the car. I have no complaints in general, typical Audi, very reliable and dependible. The only fault i have found and have since discovered is rampant on these cars is excessive tyre wear. You just can't keep tyres on these suckers!!!, Audi seem to know nothing about it but when you search the web there are several forums on it. Look for a new set of tyres as they will need replacing in half the normal usage period. During the purchase, handover and service no problem, but not interested when the tyre wear issue raised its ugly head, actually suggested i should get the tracking checked in a local tyre specialist and not in their facilities at their cost. I Love the car, find it a brilliant drive. Audi have managed to produce a very big SUV that drives and handels better than alot of cars. We have 2 toddlers so find the boot space invaluable, buggies, travelcots, toys bring it on, this dog can take the lot. Tip for Audi, sort out the tyre wear issue..

Could be better, even with back seats folded, which dont fold flat, its not great. However, lift up tailgate, useful for carrying longer loads from the hardware store, even if it does look a bit strange to have 6 ft of skirting board sticking out of the back. Main dealer prices will kill you unless you own one. Doing your own service is very feasilble though, even changing the oil is a sinch, with being able to raise the suspension. I would recommend regular oil changes to keep the turbo happy, but the 9 litres of oil each time can be expensive. Full service kits available on the web (excluding oil) for about €40 - €50. Despite the look, body is very prone to marks and dings. Check underneath for off road use. Buy one with steps fitted. As the driver you get used to getting in and out of what is a high car, but passengers usually struggle and ned up hanging out of doors and banging them of other cars trying to get in. I purchased from a main dealer and found them to be excellant, however, sourcing parts afterwards is expensive in the republic. If you can find a dealer in Northern Ireland, much more reasonable costs. Expensive hobby to run, especially fuel costs, however surpisingly easy car to work on and service yourself, if you are anyway handy. Great driving experiance though, very comfortable and now available for Ford Mondeo money. Lot of kit, everything is "just standard" on these cars, no need to worry if the previous owner ticked all the right boxes on the options list..

The boot in these cars are huge. I can fit four sets of golf clubs with buggies and four hand luggage bags in together. Don't think you would fit this in some estates. Service every 10,000 miles, filters and oil is usually the only change I have to make. Had to do the timing belt at 100,000. Car has done 130,000 miles and is still as good as ever. If it is near 100,000 timing belt will have to be changed. No other real big problems, there are alot of these cars around so it is easy enough to get second hand parts if needed. Bought privately, have my own mechanic who specialises in citreons to do all the service work. Found like all main dealers to be very dear to do anything to it. Extremely comfortable, very reliable. Has all mod cons as standard, automatic lights, automatic wipers, all electric, climate control, front and rear arm rests. You get alot of extras without having to pay extra. Alot of space in the car, can easily fit five people comfortablely without been cramped. I have the 110BHP 2.0L diesel and there is great power if it is needed. Only problem is there not a great resale value on these, but in these times is there that value woth any car..

Large enough boot easily handles a small families weekend shopping. Two large suitcases and two small ones would fit in easily. Regular intervals are more than enough. Such a solid built car. Take care of her and she will take care of you. Unlike any other French cars I find most Japanese cars trouble free. Mitsubishi is not an exemption. Servicing costs relatively reasonable. Cheaper than Subaru I must say. I got mine serviced at Michael Tynan Motors. They were very helpful, informative and straightforward. Parts are not easily found on the net so you are stuck with main dealers for supply. Irregular servicing costs might be high as these cars are really rare. Timing belt would snap so it is very crucial to get it replaced. Make sure this is done regularly (for high mileage cars). Bareks are another weakness. Keep an eye on brakes and their servicing intervals. Excellent. I would definitely recommend Michael Tynan cars. If you are buying mainstream cars it would be practical go get them serviced at your backyard or a local garage, but with these cars try to avoid this at all costs. As the original servicing will lengthen the time you get out of your car. Very comfortable realiable car with a good dealer support. Find a low mileage one (if you are lucky) with full service history and you will have found the car to leave your grandchildren. Comfortable cruiser on highway and capable around city. Chassis big but very easy to handle. Driving position is very good comfortable and great viewing. Dashboard layout is simple but efficient. Fake wooden inlay does not look cheap but I would avoid it if I had the chance (a minor thing but I would). Gear shift is smooth as ice. Sound isolation was perfect. A little bit high on consumption and running costs are average..

Decent boot enough for weekend shoppings along with a pram. Being very reliable cars you will have little problems apart from usual servicing costs (which are a bit above average). Make sure your car has full service history. Steer clear of cars with no history regardless of how clean they look (unless you get a full inspection by a main dealer. For old cars make sure they are not UK import if so check the underline of the car especially exhaust for salt residue from winter. Replacing timing belt is expensive so make sure this is done. See dealer experience below for more. Running costs are relatively higher than your average 1.4, but if you have put your mind onto a Subaru you already know that. Three golden rules apply especially with powerful engines and Subaru's being rock solid. 1- Full service history 2- Get a main dealer to do a full thorough check for you 3- Make sure you really want the car as shifting second hand Subaru's would take some time (especially with high mileage cars with no service history) One word. Excellent. Very professional, helpful (not forcing you to get things done through them but guiding you as to how to take good care of your car) Mine was Carroll and Roche in Newlands cross. Servicing manager, he is a gentleman. Very helpful and informative. As stated before servicing costs apart from the usual could be slightly higher than average but you get more than you paid for. I would buy another Subaru just for this reason. Mine had 80K on the clock. It was a factory standard 2.5 GX. It had all the bells and whistles (leather, cruise control, heated seats, heated wind mirrors etc etc...) Absolutely fantastic car to drive. Suitable as a family car but avoid the leather trim as it passengers at the back tend to slip sideways while cornering :) Leather also practical for totures of family life. Powerful engine, less fuel consumption then a 2.0 litre Mitsubishi Galant. Very reliable car..

Not a lot more than deeper your average sedan. Some notchbacks (e.g Skoda Octavia) give much larger boot. The good thing is the height which increases volume. You can move out the back seats for a much more larger boot if need be. Servicing with main dealers cost a lot. EP Mooney Renault on Long Mile Road charges 90 EU per hour. Diesels are extremely expensive to maintain at long mileages. e.g. all four diesel injectors (including pipes and all necessary bit and pieces) cost 2000EU to replace. You get can them ultra sound cleaned at Bosch services but it too will cost at least 800 - 1000 EU's. Seatbelt buckle of the rear middle seat costs a hefty 150 EU's (50 for buckle 90 for labor) to replace with the same dealer. Parts are very easy to come by on breakers from UK at eBay. the car is not the most reliable. Is known for its electrical faults. The electrical control board costs 400 EU to replace. If I had a second shot I would easily avoid this car. Full service history is much more important than any other car given the reliability issues or the car. The car having an NCT is not good enough. Make sure you see the NCT report and see how it did on braking and emissions. Passing NCT is one thing and passing it on the limit is another. Unfortunately if the threshold for a pass lets say on brakes is %40 (just making this up I don't know the real figures, just for e.g. sakes) and the car has passed with a 39 they still give it a full 2 years NCT which will leave you prone to brake servicing costs. Tire wear is quite evident with 17" alloys. Make sure the tires are balanced. Some cars might have their digital dashboard replaced and hence show less mileage than usual. The dealer where I bought (Alan Kiernan Cars) tried to sell it without telling me that is was replaced when I caught them on it they acted like they did not know it (and they were quite surprised!). Walk away if you feel the dealer is dodgy. As the car is really expensive to service (even on local garages) avaoid cas r with no recorded service. Get a free history mileage tax check at mywheels.ie (free service) As with all cars if you have no idea of what is going on under the bonnet and in and around the car, it is best to spend some cash on professional car check (mechanical) from someone like AA but make sure you get a written list of their findings regardless whomever you get it done by. Use these findings for haggling the price down. Finally buy your car either from a SIMI dealer or buy it privately and pay some of the difference (you will pay much less privately) for this mechanical / electrical check service. At all costs avoid other dealers as they are in for money and they won't recognize you next time you are back with a problem (at least this was the case with Alan Kiernan Cars). EP Mooney is all but cash. None friendly, mechanical and like some of the 'more cash orinted' main delaers I have dealt with focused on their revenue rather than your servicing experience. They don't have to be friendly but they are not helpful to help you get the best out of your car. See my other dealer experiences for more. Very good driving position. Steering wheel only height adjustable. Road vision for the back seats is great. Body roll evident while cornering. 17" tires wear faster than 16 and 15' ones. Authentique trim is best avoided as the cheap looking material on seats is not god for wear and tear. Flexibility in the cabin defines the class standards. Get one with a sunroof as it changes the perception of the interior a lot. 1.4 engine is very weak for the chassis even the 1.5 dCi I am driving. go for 1.6 petrol or even better 1.9 dCi. Fuel economy is great doing easily over 50mpg in heavy traffic..

Not surprisingly, minimal. Not as small as you might think though. Very little maintenance with this car. People warned me not to go Japanese because replacement parts could be difficult to get - this was never a problem at all. May need to keep an eye on the electric windows though as the motors tend to break, but dont cost much to replace. Other than this, I had mine for 2 years without a problem. Check the hood and make sure there's a good seal with the windows. If there's a leak it can be a pain to fix without buying a new hood. Check all the electrics. These cars hold their value very well, so dont be afraid to bargain with the seller, as they're probably selling for the same price they bought for. None. Classically beautiful car. Has to be in red, though the sky blue is pretty gorgeous too. Definately a girls car (sorry boys - just dont do it!). Fantastic to drive - the nicest convertible I've ever been in. If it fits in the boot, it qualifies as 'carry on' luggage on most major airlines! Apparently the radiator, thermostat and head gasket have a tendancy to go at some stage - which can be costly. Other than that they take very little maintenance. Bring it for a good drive, stopping starting and idle'ing. The radiator in one I test drove blew when left idle after an hour of hard driving. Check for leaks from radiator. Dont have any - but always get a full service history. Pilot year with 1895cc. Fantastic car to drive. Very few problems for a car with very high mileage. The boot looks small but can actually hold a lot more than you think, I managed to fit a medium sized dog cage, along with a rucksack and two full shopping bags. The back-seats are easily folded down, and lie flat for extra space. There is also a rope rack attached to the backseat to store papers, magazines, etc. Underneath in the wheel area you get a very good Jack set-up, which is of better quality than the ford or toyota, and easier to use. The beetle follows the general rule for servicing and maintenance for Volkswagen engines. once every 15,000 miles or so. Volkswagen parts and servicing can be expensive if buying from a VW dealer, generic parts are usually good quality and work just as well. If you plan to sell the car later on, it is best to keep up the VW service history, or a complete record of work done on the car. Check the underbody and exhaust for rust, this is very common in the older beetles, especially if the car wasn't well kept, and the exhaust may need to be replaced after around five years. Make sure there is a full service history, VW or normal dealer at least, if you want a good quality Beetle. Check the engine and clutch, the clutch tends to be the first major part to go in the Beetle The beetle has a tendency to pick up quirks along the way, I have a problem with one of the indicators, when it rains the indicator cuts out, and the bulb needs to be taken out and dried, but is easily fixed. The dealer I bought the car from is a beetle specialist, he pointed out both good and bad points of the car, and was quite happy to talk about any problems that can pop up in the beetles from time to time, such as the rust build-up. I was very happy with the service I received, from the test drive to the price I got a very good deal. I didn't get a warranty but a year later I still have had no problems with the car, except the indicator fault. When looking for a beetle, keep looking around until you find the one that you are happy with, I went to test-drive four cars before I found one I was happy with. If you want it, you will buy it!! The Beetle has the usual basic fixtures of any volkswagen, and also comes with the normal guarantee of VW quality and durability. I bought the basic 1.6L petrol model, which comes with very little, but that's very common for VW cars., hubcaps, mid-range radio, central locking, electric windows and mirrors. The styling of the car in the 2004 model is less angular than earlier Beetles, the car looks more streamlined and less boxy. The handling is great, the car is fitted with ESP which holds the car on the road on any bend, but the car is heavy enough to stay on the road anyway. Performance-wise the beetle can be quite slow, especially for accelerating and overtaking, it is best for town driving or tipping along on a nice day. The space inside is huge for the driver and front seat passenger, but lacks headroom in the back seats, which can lead to extra passengers hitting their head off the back window if they aren't paying attention. The seating is very comfortable and fully adjustable, with a rachet style handle that raises and lowers both front seats, the same is found on the arm-rest in the middle. Although the glove compartment is small, there are plenty of nooks and cranny's to place stuff in, with a cd holder under the arm rest, two sunglass holders, and the obligatory holder on the side of each door (albeit string holders which don't hold smaller objects) The two flaws I find hard to ignore are that the car is quite un-economical with a high CO2 output of around 186mpg, and is heavy on petrol, also visibility out the rear is limited and can be hard to reverse. But the main reason you will buy this car, no matter what the reviews say, is because it makes you happy to drive around in, even if you do feel like you're in a ship with the huge dashboard. I love My Beetle!!.

AS GOOD AS YOU CAN EXPECT WILL FIT ALL THE SHOPPING AND A BUGGY BUT IT MAY TAKE A BIT OF PLANNING AND 1 OR 2 ATTEMPTS. TIMMING BELT IS THE EXPENSIVE ONE, ENGINE HAS TO COME OUT SO THEY SAY. (HAVENT DONE MINE YET) STANDARD SERVICING NOT TOO BAD AS ALL THE PERTS CAN BE BOUGHT ON THE NET AT VERY REASONABLE PRICES. WHEN WAS TIMMING BELT DONE? SERVICING HISTORY LOW MILLAGE I DONT HAVE ANY WITH THE COUPE, BUT FROM MY PUNTO DAYS LIKE ALL MAIN DEALERS THERE ARE SOME GOOD AND SOME NOT SO. LOVELY QUICK LITTLE SPORTS CAR. PLENTY OF POWER ON TAP AND LOOKS THAT ALWAYS TURN A HEAD OR TWO. lOVELY SOUNDING 5 CYCLENDER ENGINE AND IN MY EXPERIENCE VERY RELIABLE. STILL A 150 MPH CAR WHICH IS IMPRESSIVE COMSIDERING IT IS STILL STANDARD AND HAS NEVER BEEN REBUILT OR MESSED WITH..

As good as it gets unless you buy a van. This is my third Volvo. Parts aren't as expensive as BMW and its recently sailed through the NCT. Check the front suspension/bushings. Can be problems with the bars. I've always found Volvo dealers decent and honest. Couldn't say the same about dealers for other models I've owned. This is a great driving car. Handles really well. Leather, heated seats very comfortable..

Really good- I could fit quite a bit into the boot. It is a hatchback so it is pretty standard for a three door hatchback. So far so good. We bought it last year and had it serviced straight away. It hasn't given us any trouble since but we will bring it in for its annual service soon. Make sure you take a car for a test drive if possible. Just because it looks good doesn't mean it will drive ok. When we got it serviced at our local Opel dealer they were very nice and I think very fair! I love my car. It is an easytronic which means you can drive it as an automatic or a manual but I always choose automatic. It is important to put on the emergency break when you are parked though because the car is in neutral and not in park like a regular automatic. Ours is blue too which is a great colour for a car. Silver cars are a dime a dozen!.

Check service history as alot of these were used as Taxis because of their reliability. Good Nice comfortable car. Has plenty of extras, Abs,Cd player, electrics windows all round, eletric mirrors, has 9 airbags. Car is very well build,a very solid car. The 1.6 is under powered and needs the bigger engine, not great for motorway driving but great for city driving. Also best looking in the platinum colour, after 6 years a waxing made this car look brand new again/.

Not the biggest boot in the world, a struggle to put a pram and a couple of bags in.I can't get a weeks shopping into the boot. Cheap little car to run. 2007 cars recalled over back lights, make sure this was done. Good dealer experience. Great little car, suprisingly spacious inside with lots of head room and space. Interior hasn't anything spectacular but everything you need is there,Mp3 cd changer, electric mirrors, electric front windows. The car itself drives well, a very nippy car and holds the road well. The 1.3 engine sounds well when excellerating and the revs go on for ever, you wont get blistering speeds out of it. Car is easy to keep clean also, material on seats and carpets are easily washed down..

Huge as in the standard Focus only better, as there is no spare tyre - you geta deflation kit instead. 20,000 but entuasiasts will change oil maybe every 8K or so to treat the girl right. Probable no rubber on tyres due to fun and possible rattles here and there due to hard suspension. Lillis O Donnell Dublin - Sarah - Excellent - kept me up to date every week or so during the 5 month wait. Car prepared beautifully and kept hidden away. If you want a good RS wait( over a year now I believe) - they are the garage to deal with. Fair play Sarah RS - Rally Sport. Two great words to describe the Jeckal & Hide Car. Tame on the way to work, monster on the way to weekend. Stunning looking and gaurenteed to put a smile on your face. great! the way it slants toward the front so if anything is wet or leaking it will all run toward the seats not a major problem but it can take a long time to dry out. pretty cheap to maintain and services are quite easy so therefore cheap. make sure the engine hasnt been run out f it if there is a tow bar on it. i had a good experience managed to get 1000 euros off. so mine is a bargain at 2900 euros!!! This is a great van. i use it for college transporting all my equipment around. i find it great for throwing kayaks and all my wet gear in. i also use it to get changed in the back when its wet and cold!!! i find tho that the sump is very close to the ground so watch if you are driving up kerbs and the like..

Plenty big Regular mazda 6 service (150 - 250 euro, depending on the garage)... Tires can be a little more expensive then normal, so make sure they are in good condition. Other then that, just make sure its been serviced regularly by a Mazda dealer and its been looked after. Very good. Mazda 6 MPS (Mazda Performance Series). First off I honestly find it hard (impossible) to fault this car, and I'm an extremely fussy driver. I'd give the car a 10 out of 10. I've owned it now for over 2 years and I am a very pleased with every aspect of the 6 MPS. From its looks, styling, drive, feel, extras, reliability, safety, etc... I can honestly say, out of all the cars I've owned to date (8 total), I have yet to get bored of the MPS. Its a pleasure to drive each day. If its in for a service and not available or I have a rental, I quickly realise how different it is to average run around and start to miss it rapidly... The following is only my opinion and experience, I'm far from being an expert... Bang for buck, including running and maintenance costs, I think there's very little out there that can match this car for power, performance and extras (as standard). Its got four wheel drive (dynamic front and back split, puts power to the wheels where its needed). 2.3 turbo'd straight 4 petrol engine, seamless and endless acceleration through all the gears. 260bhp, 0-60 in around 6secs (so its very quick). Turbo means the road tax is kept "relatively" low (considering the bhp), so you're only paying for the 2.3 litres i.e. ~800 euro pa. I find the MPG to be very economical, broadly speaking around mid to high 20's (driving style doesn't seem to vary this much). In terms of driving, the car is as happy around city traffic as it is on the motorway. I think the turbo is a perfect solution, as its only used when its needed, mostly its running on the 4 cylinders, so keeps it very honest and economical. Its a very safe car, highest euro cap safety rating at time of manufacture. It feels rock solid on the road. The power and acceleration seems endless, it just wants to keep going, makes drive to the local super market a lot more exciting... ;) Worth stating that its not just raw power, the car has been designed to support it and makes it safe and controllable. From what I've read, the chassis is stiffened with extra support hidden all round the body, there's no tacky spoiler (instead there's under carriage dynamics to hold it down), and there's no nasty bonnet vents, the turbo is very cleverly vented using a hollowed bonnet (which gives the front of the car some nice lines). There's 18" alloys with Bridgestone tires (as standard), couple these with the superb chassis plus 4WD and all this gives the car bucket loads of grip on the bends, (both wet and dry), and while braking and accelerating (its very sure footed). There's a lot of gadgets keeping you safe, like dynamic stability control (DSC) (which as far as I can tell basically seems to take over and kill the power if it senses any loss of grip or severe vibration)...and there's the regular ABS and Traction Control. The look of the car is superb IMO. Very different to the regular 6 model. Flared wheel arches, raised bonnet, twin exhaust, lower sports suspension. To the average passer by it looks like a better then average decent car. Usually gets a second look when its cleaned up, or catches the eye of the odd car enthusiast. The extras that come as standard are impressive: 6CD in-dash BOSE audio with sub, cruise control, steering wheel controls for both cruise and audio, programmable drivers seat with lumbar support (can be coded to drivers key so it puts the seat back in position before you get in, very handy), AC and sun roof, full black sport leather interior (very comfortable seats), 18" alloys, armrest... Good size saloon, comfortable on long journeys and can hold 5 adults. Nicely finished interior and instrument panel. If you're in the market for one of these, you won't be disappointed. I hope Mazda have plans for a new 6 MPS..

Boot Space is massive, you'll fit just about any everyday items in there.Theres enough room for 3 or 4 golf bags. In my case theres room for 3 prams and baggage. Servicing is expensive enough in the early years, keeping your warrenty up in the first 3 years is costly as you'll be heading to the main dealer for services. Also I found the oil consumption a bit much, topping up regularly every 5 or 6k miles (140bhp 2.0 TDI) Look for a full service history, was timing belt done? Check and make sure theres no problems with the Turbo and intercooler. Dealer trips for servicing is expensive as already said, if you want to keep you warrenty up to date, you need to visit your main dealer for all serices which is going to cost you. Most of the dealers i've been in where quite helpful. I find the 2.0 TDI 140bhp has a very comfortable and spacious interior. Sitting in the back seats is comfortable for 2 large adults, I struggle to put 3 kids in the back (2 baby seats take up alot of space) wouldnt recommend if you have 3 kids as comfort for them will suffer in the back. Sound is superb for the multi disc CD,no tape deck (as if you'd need one). Mine has full leather although beautiful at first suffered alot with kids jumping in and out, very easily marked. Drive is fine, nice bit of power when needed for over taking, recommend 4th, does suffer from a bit of turbo lag when excellerating from stop. Breaks are also good, stops you dead safely in all conditions. Handling on back roads although the car takes the bends in the road with ease it does tend to feel abit lazy or loose/flighty/rocky if get me.Resale isnt its best points, so i'd recommend shopping around, you can get a full spec'd second hand A6 for very little money at the moment.

Excellent.. couldn't do enough for me! Where do I star??? What a car! Its a fantastic car is every way. This model is a 2ltr boxer engine which has 6 speed gearbox. The boot space above floorlevel is behind the rear seats. This is shielded for public view by the darkened glass in the rear windows. The boot space is adequate but not huge. There are compartments hidden under the floorlevel in the boot which are very useful and practical' A service is due every 15000km. I had the first carried out a few weeks ago and it was straight forward and reasonably priced. The past seven months have been completely troublefree for me. The car will have to serviced by the Kia Main Dealer to ensure that the warrenty is kept in place. Remember that there is a five year unlimitd warranty with the Kia Soul. Ensure that the service book has been stamped at the 15000km intervals confirming that the services have been carried out. This a new model and watch for newspaper reviews/ experience of other owners. If you live in an area with rough road surfaces you might be better to go for the non 18inch wheel. I dealt with Letterkenny Kia, Drumkeen Co Donegal. I found Seamus , the Manger there very good to deal with. When I arranged to book in the car for first service I was offered a replacement car for a few hours. I actually remained in the waiting room and foun d it very comfortable. There is a very friendly and homely atmosphere there. I was very impressed when I took the Kia Soul for a test drive. It was the top of the range demonstration model I drove. Alll Kia soul cars have a 1.6 diesel engine and give over 50mpg. I eventually purchased this particular car. It has an electric sun roof and a colour reversing camera which activates when the car is put into reverse gear. There are also reversing sensors which bleep intermittently at first and as the object at the rear gets nearer they bleep continously. This particular model is fitted with 18inch alloy wheels and low profile tyres. It also comes in 16inch and 17 inch wheels. I find that the 18inch wheel is a little bit bumpy on a rough surface but this normal with a large wheel. The driving position is very high and provides a good view. The extra height makes it easy to get in and out of. This car responds very quickly with lots of power when you ask it to pick up and cruises along. This particular model is priced at €23400. I found it to be excellent value for money and it can comfortably carry 4/5 people. The other impressive fact about this car is that it comes with a 5 year unlimited mileage warrenty. The passengers with modern gadgets can plug in their laptop and ipod. The occupants safety is well catered for with muliti air bags and spot lights. This car has also been awarded the highest safety rating in the European crash test . The comfort is looked after with air conditioning and up grade radio and cd player. There are also disco effect lights which may be operated in conjunction with the music being played. Its easy on the pocket as well with road tax at just €156. Overall I am very satisfied with my metalic painted Kia Soul which I now have for seven trouble free months ..

Not much when the seats are up, but can take a decent amount of shopping. With the rear seats folded down this car can take larger bulkier items that the Avensis can't. It's a Toyota, I'm sure it will score above average in terms of needing any work done. We never had any problem with our previous model, which we had for 7 years. The older model may not have rear headrests. Excellent. We have dealt with Fitzpatricks both in Naas and Kildare and have found that they could not do enough for us. Also they were great value for trade-ins. We love it. This is my second Yaris in the last nine years (we also own a Toyota Avensis) and is in every way as good as the first Yaris. As a small car you get all the benefits you would expect, excellent fuel economy (it's a 1 litre after all), easy parking (even in the minimalist parking spots at Dublin airport). In addition this is a nice car to drive, and surprisingly spacious even for adults in the back seat. The driving position is great, even for a 6 foot overweight adult male. Only one small criticism is the engine noise. The new Yaris has 3 cylinders making it noisier than the previous model, but then this car is not designed for long distance driving, although more than capable with coping with it. This car is not, however, the choice for those who may be image conscious..

Not great boot size for car in class. As with a lot of Alfa's, had a few issues with niggly little things. Thankfully all the electrics worked. Also the cost of the spark plugs were quite steep. I think this made me love it all the more because if it was ever in the garage, whatever car i drove while it was being treated made me miss my Alfa even more! Make sure everything works when buying one. Listen for any unusual sounds. Delaer was quite helpful especially if i found any issue with my car....while it was under guarantee! Owned one for 3 years and boy was it fun! I had a few issues with it during our relationship but i think that just added to the experience. It just loved to be driven and answered any questions i ever asked of it. It sounded great as the revs climbed. I never wanted to get rid of it but the number of kids dictated proceedings!.

Loads of room in the back and the boot( sw model ) is bigger than that in the passat estate. Loads of extras in the EX model makes this a very well equipped car and good value compared to the competition. Should be cheap to run in the long term as there is no timing belt or particulate filter to be replaced. oh and don't forget the 7 year warranty for extra peace of mind.

not bad for a small car, a bit narrow but quite deep. managed to fit two small suitcases in. cheap as chips, parts easy to find if you stay away from dealer network and use the internet/ebay Leaky roof and door seals. Crash damage. Smoky engines (many of these have spent most of their life above 7000 rpm). expensive when they want to be, jap import blah blah etc Little room inside, wouldnt reccomend courting in one! drives lovely, handles as good as anything front wheel drive on the road, even today. Engine is the party piece, 8500 rpm red line, 170bhp from a 1.6. Great fun, boy racer image sadly lets it down these days..

Massive 15k mile intervals, though timing chan can be probematic. I change oil every 10k on the dot with fully synthetic. Uses many Opel parts therfore some items are relatively cheap. Timing chain noises. Very expensive and difficult to change. SID units (dash display for radio and on-board computer) often fails €500 to replace. Hard to find and can be expensive (not as expensive as Renault though) A very large executive style estate car. Very smooth ride with sufficent power for everyday use. Massive boot space and good image. Can only get 32mpg at best. Service can be expensive. Onto my second one now. First one written off at 180k miles due to errant large HGV..

Lots! you could fit a dead cow in there! Timing belt service is expensive and needs to be done every 40k. Apart from that, parts are easy to come by and cheap. timing belt change, preferably service history. Crash damage, clocking(these hold mileage very well). Not bad This is for the omega elite 2.5. V6 engine purrs smoothly and is very refined. Its a bit thirsty with an average of 26-27 mpg for my mix of town/motorway driving. The most underrated car you can buy. Rear wheel drive makes it a real drivers car even for its size it handles very well. Spec is excellent, heated seats front and back, electric memory seats and mirrors. Cruise, dual climate, xenons and more. A good one will cost you less than €4k and you wont get anything to match it apart from a merc/audi/bmw..

Teh two extra seats fold flat giving a boot big enough for two washing machines. A little worried about this but it has a 2 year warranty. Also you are tied to the dealers for anything electrical. Teh 1.6HDI EGS has 140gm emissions which makes the road tax only 150 Euros in Ireland (until the Greens put this up like they did my Prius tax.) Bought it from a Citroen dealer in Leeds. Nice guys. Just took delivery of my '09 Citroen Picasso 1.6HDI VTR+ with EGS (UK model); This is a 1.6 diesel MPV automatic that does...wait for it... 60mpg rural and 53mpg combined. And it is a pleasure to drive and well designed with 7 flexible seats. I'm nervous about the electronic handbrake release... this is counterintuitive to us. The ride is good enough, not as nice as our trusted '06 Toyota Prius, but good. There's bundles of power despite being a 1.6 Diesel..

Boot space is good enough. It is not a massive car, but I previously had a Nissan Primera Saloon, and the boot is around the same size. I had expected the Mazda's boot to be a good bit smaller than the Nissan's as it is a smaller car, but they have somehow managed to give it a big boot and still leave plenty of leg room in the back. There is no handle on the boot to open it (just a key-hole) which is a little annoying. It is not the end of the world, but on mucky wet days when your car is covered in dirt, the only option is to squeeze your fingers in under the boot panel. If you are a clean-freak I recommend a pack of baby wipes in to boot for when you open it. I can only assume it was done for cosmetic purposes so there is no nasty boot handle spoiling the appearance, but other brands have worked around this cleverly and it is a pity Mazda didn't too. i drove a Seat Ibiza on holidays recently and the Seat badge doubles as a boot handle. Very clever and invisible. Mind you, that was the only good thing about that car... but that would need a whole new review! Nothing to report so far. The car was in good nick when I got it, so i haven't had to do any maintenance just yet. As I already said, drive the 1.6 and the saloons before just going for the basic models. Not much difference at all in the price, but a big difference in performance... and your insurance company will thank you for the extra cash you'll be giving them :) I bought from Phoenix motors in Bluebell, Dublin 12. They were very good, willing to haggle on the price (I was trading in my old car) and for a car dealer, relatively little bulls*%t. And they gave me a very good price for my trade in, which is always good. When I bought the car the airbag light was on, and there was a creak from the rear suspension. I got a 12 month warranty with the car, so they readily agreed to fix these for me. However, after waiting 3 weeks for them to get the part in and leaving the car in over the weekend, it turned out they had the wrong part and "forgot" to look at the suspension. I won't write them off as useless just yet though. They were very apologetic and have promised to get it sorted soon. Assuming they do get it done soon I won't hold it against them. These things happen the best of us from time to time. I am really happy with this car. I have had it about 6 weeks now and no complaints. I went for the 1.6l 16V Saloon model after reading some reviews saying the 1.4l wasn't very nippy, and I am glad I did. I had to leave the car back into the garage to get an airbag fixed (see Dealer Experience comments below) and was given an 08 Mazda 3 1.4l as a replacement, and I really noticed the difference. The 1.4 was fine, but out on the main roads and motorways you really notice the power difference. The replacement car was a hatchback too, and it didn't seem as solid on the road. I can't say for sure if that is a difference between the hatchback and saloon or a difference between an 05 and an 08, but I definitely prefer the ride quality in mine. I have heard before that the saloon has a better ride quality, so worth driving both before you buy..

Great boot space for a coupe. The reason for this is the lack of room in the back of the car for passengers. No problems with the car other than an initial handbrake issue. Excellent reliabilty Accidents. Faulty steering. Odometer. Stolen car? Rust or leaks. Electrics. I bought the car from HB Dennis. Had a problem with the handbrake and they sorted it for me quickly. Gave me a replacement car in the meantime. They forgot to give me the Alloy key for the lock nuts on the wheels. Had a blow out recently and had no key to take the wheel off. Had to join AA and eventually towed away. Excellent car to drive. Looks faster than it is. I have the 1.6 s model. Overall happy with this car but being a family man now I may have to change to 5 door car. Well worth buying one of these. Very reliable too..

Back then it was the car I always wanted and I spent 5k on it, biggest mistake ever. 2 months after the purchase it started cutting out when I would push down on the clutch. It has given me some problems since I purchased it I have serviced it and had it put through an NCT, but the biggest problem is the amount of oil it burn per month is shocking. when I take a sharp turn the oil light comes on with the most irritating sound ever, 3 fecking beeps, driving in the city centre is not fun, for those very reasons. Its a 1.4 but the way she drinks the petrol you'd swear she was a 2L. But besides that she's a lovely looking car. Still to this day my favourite Mark out of them all! I love the interior, for a 98 a lot nicer and up to date style than any other make of the same year. what ever you do, stay away from 1.4 as they tend to seize after they go over a 100,000 miles, mine is somehow just about running and its touching 137,000 mile mark..

And at least you always know the stuff is genuine! Rust around boot and door edges, rattling out of the gearbox! The Space wagon handles better than many modern day SUV’s, believe it or not. Many people may not know, but this model is built on an adapted version of the EVO IV platform, meaning that handling is surprisingly sharp! Body roll is well controlled, and while the steering is light it is precise. I can thrown the car into a corner and know it will come out the other side. I would say though that handling has varied under different sets of tyres, I had Goodyear’s on it for two years and understeer was much worse. It is best to stick with Bridgestone’s similar to the ones that all of these cars were delivered with. The model number of the tyre most similar today can be ascertained from a call to a dealer. ABS was only introduced to the range in 1997, which is a must in the wet. Many cars are advertised as having ABS that don’t, so make sure you check for this. Similarly, there were no airbags until 1997 either. The engine is excellent. It sounds great, even after 135k miles, and is full of power low down the rev rane. The driving position is probably the best of any car I have driven. Every instrument is where is it meant to be, and large square windows make visibility great. You will not feel tired, or have aches after driving for a long time. The rear seats are poorly designed, so be aware that if you carrying more than five people, anything over a small child will have problems in the rear. There are loads of cubby holes, and storage places. The only awkward thing is the rear bumper, which is designed to stick out from the car, and is deceptive when parking. Mine has had a bang or two as a result, and looking at other Space wagons around, it seems other owners may have the same issue. Fuel economy is not great; unfortunately the engine in this car is an old Japanese design, which means loads of power, and a great sound, but 25mpg around town at best. The car is also hot in the summer, as the windows are large and the interior made from heavy material. Air con is rarely standard, I would hunt for one with A/C if buying another one At least the cars are commanding good resale value in Ireland well into later life. There are 12 year old models still making €2,500. 1) Dodgy imported models, which have better spec, but are not as reliable. 2) Expensive dealer bills 3) Timing belts (you will hear squealing from the engine) 4) Smoky exhaust might mean an oxygen sensor has gone, which is also expensive 5) Models with no air con can be very stuffy in summer To say this car is reliable is an understatement. In 13 years it has never left us stranded. The engine is full of power at low revs, and refined at speed. We are still on our original exhaust, gearbox, brake discs, and a host of other parts. Only timing belts (every 45,000 miles) and the head gasket (every 75k miles) are troublesome. Also the light bulbs are continually blown, which is annoying, but not costly. All electrics still work, and the car is a real example of Japanese engineering at its best. Servicing has been the biggest let down with this car. The dealer, once I had bought the car, adopted a ‘who are you’ approach. Every service is a rip off (I have twice paid over €500 for nothing extra), and a row over the bill. I now get all work done independently, and am much better off for it. Mitsubishi need to sort out their dealer’s attitude to servicing. My car is the facelift model, introduced for late 1995. This has been a pleasure to own and drive over the last ten years. It is reliable, practical, and durable. At the time it was bought I was also considering an Opel Zafira, and a Renault Espace. The look of the car,, reported reliability, and also the price swayed me to buy the Spacewagon, and I have not been disappointed. It is incredibly car like in its seating position, and also its handling. The rear seats are suitable only for children, and boot space when they are being used is miniscule, but aside from that there are very few drawbacks. Thirteen years on and the interior is still immaculate, there is no rust, or flaky paint, and it is sturdily built, so no bits have fallen off or broken inside. I have no intention of getting rid of this car until it becomes uneconomical to repair it, as it is almost as capable as the day I bought it..

The boot space is nothing short of amazing and if you drop the rear seats I think you might fit a double bed into it. I have put just over 50,000 miles up on it and have had it serviced every year at a main dealership. So apart from a set of tyres , brake pads and the normal service items, there have been no major outlays. Being front wheel drive I would look out for uneven tyre wear on the front wheels My experience with the main dealer (where I bought the car) has been good. I got a year's warranty with the car and I never needed to call on it. I bought this car in April 2005 and I have never looked back. It is a beautiful car to drive, very comfortable on long journeys but with plenty of poke when you need it. The road handling is first class and with the combination of a turbo (albeit a light pressure turbo) and front wheel drive it will just pull you out of a bend, even when the bend turns out to be sharper than you thought. Even though it is a 2 litre petrol engine I am averaging around 34 mpg, granted I don't spend hours in traffic if I can help it but I do drive the car, as opposed to just following the car in front, or looking at the scenery..

N/A - open back! Service and maint is grand! As a Mitsubishi the reliability factor is 2nd to none and wear and tear parts are not expensive when compared and contrasted to alternatives in the market. Most of all the dealer with whom I service the vehicle is top class and very reasonable. Not sure really...I suppose a lot of these vehicles are work horses and are used off road a lot so best to check out the under carraige, and shocks before buying. Also, many of these are chipped brand new. Its a Mitsubishi part (not a modifaction as such) and it jacks the power up over 170bhp. The real advantage is it has ZERO effect on fuel consumption. (At least it did for me anyway as this is my 2nd one.) So, if buying a 2nd hand one get a chipped one if ya can! What a gent! Joe Harvey from Grace&Harvey Motors is one of the nicest (if not the nicest) car dealer I have ever met. He is a pleasure to deal with and I have since recommended him to both friends and family. I really like this motor! I have always been partial to pickup trucks but I have been reluctant to get one as they are for the most part they are guzzlers. However, this little baby runs on the smell of an oily rag! As standard its 2.5 Turbo Diesel, 5 speed manual, is roughly 138BHP. There is plenty of power and she uses only 9 Litres of diesel per 100kms. The 4 wheel drive has several settings depending on weather conditions, what your towing etc, but what I like is that you can switch bewteen 2wd and 4wd whilst the car is in motion (up to 100kms). Whilst in 2wd the power comes from the rear wheels so if it starts raining it can be a bit slippy in terms of traction when turning corners and accelrating up hills. This is when the 4wd and traction control really help, especially if towing. I have one issue with the vehicle though! The leaf spring suspension in the back is not ideal. It does mean you can carry tons in the bed but as far as comfort goes it's a bit rough! The previous model I did not like and I imagine many people would aggree with me as it was very cramped in the cab and underpowered! DO NOT JUDGE THIS MODEL ON THE PREVIOUS ONE AS IT'S COMPLETLY DIFFERENT. Lastly the other delightful perk about thsi vehicle is that it has a cab to carry passengers yet it is still commercial meaning road tax is a mere €250/year versus the €935 on a 2.5 litre car. Nice is'nt it :0).

Pretty decent considering its a coupe. have carried out all of my own repairs thus far so cannot comment. I'll be sneding it in to Joe Duffy for a full service soon however. If its a UK import, which mine is, make sure to check underneath the car for signs of rusting, as they salt the roads heavily over there. have carried out all of my own repairs thus far so cannot comment. I'll be sneding it in to Joe Duffy for a full service soon however. My first BMW but definitely not my last. Love the quality feel of the interior, the way the door shuts with a solid clunk and the handling is second to none. One thing i would say however is, if you can afford the tax, go for a six cylinder model instead, such as the 323 or 325. The 318 engine feels can feel strained at higher speeds. That said, it's easy to insure and is surprisingly easy on petrol. In the eight or so months i've had very little trouble with the car, apart from a new radiator. Contrary to popular belief, BMW replacement parts are pretty cheap to source if you look in the right places. can't reccomend the 3 series coupe enough..

It has such a clean sleek look to it and i would recommend it to anyone. As for the safety of this car it is phenomenal. It's road handling and performance is magnificent. The two things i would change would be the seats, it not being a comfortline golf, they are not so comfy and also its not that fast for a 1.4 prob due to the 17" alloys :) . With a little work and money this car can look gorgeous eg: kits, lights and some more..

So keep an eye out that your not buying a C2 that may have had modifications done. My one was a one lady owner :-) None bought second hand Was looking to buy a second car so a small city car seemed the best choice. We didn't want to go KA, Clio, Micra ,Corsa as they seem to be everywhere and look a bit naff . Negatives – I am always asked to drive on weekends away..

Perfectly good as with most small hatchbacks. Well as I said I only had it on load, I mentioned the issues with performance and petrol consumption on return, and have asked araound, it's not a standard issue with these cars which are normally quite reliable. I don't think I'd watch out for anything, because I wouldn't imagine I'd be buying one. Sorry. ;0( Very good. I only had this car on loan, and clearly there was something wrong with it (well I hope there was) because it literally drank petrol. Interior is fine, looks are fine but all in all it ain't no golf! Looks or performance..

Boot space is non existent. Endless leaking problems through roof and doors – even after being fixed, sooo annoying. The aforementioned leaks!!! All good. It's not a bad car, and doesn't look too shabby. Nice to drive, but not a huge amount of power in this model, other more powerful models weren't worth the extra spend at the time, but in hindsight I should have gone for them. Enough room on the back seat to accommodate a small person who was willing to lie down rather than sit. Ridiculously easy and seamless converting, and nice interior with reasonable standard spec (including rear sensors ... a must for me I'm not ashamed to admit!).

Sufficient for a light shopping spree in Dundrum of a Saturday. Few bags in the boot and the rest on the back seats. Perfecto! Just about fit the weekly shop (once clothes and shoes shopping had been removed of course. I had it from new for a year, so I had no issues. I think I'd have to ask the hubby about that one ... not really my forte! Fine. Nothing special, but nothing bad either. I love love love this car. Well loved would be more appropriate, I no longer have it. ;0( Fab to drive, fab to park, looks great. Honestly. Why would you buy anything else?.

If this is a criteria for your car, then I for 1 want nothing to do with you..... Well gladly I have no opinion on this section, because dispite driving my little Nissan like there's no tomorrow, I've had no problems with it The big grin that spreads across your face...... ? I'm couldn't be more than about 93% certain on this, but as far as I know this car is the coolest car ever made, i've driven m3's and lambos in my time, but nothing can compare to awsomeness of the Pulsar GTiR, point 1, lots of power and potential for a lot more, point 2, 4wd for throwing into the bends, point 3, electric mirrors in a car that's almost 20 years old, point 4, compartment for an umbrella hidden behind the drivers door....... 2 words, Absolutely Rad........prove me wrong.....

great boot space, can fit alot in it. Golf's are known to burn alot of oil so i would keep an eye on this but other than that no need to spend alot of money. see if full service history is available to check it out thoroughly. check for any outter damage. best to bring experienced mechanic with you if possible. very helpful I fell in love with this car from the moment i seen it.

Fits my buggy and toys. That's all I care about. Well, I haven't been left at the side of the road while Daddy uses bad words at a smoking pile of engine parts. So that's nice. Spend a little extra and get aircon. I hate when Daddy opens the window. Weren't you listening? I was a foetus when he bought this. If the test drive was when I think it was, I didn't bang my head off the placenta during it, nor was there much shouting. So that's good, right? Just so we're clear - I'm ten months old. Dad had this car well before I was born, so I didn't get much say in the matter. I've been watching Top Gear lately, and I think I'd prefer one of them shiny spaceship looking ones - Aston Martin, is it? Or failing that, Handy Manny's truck. Especially if it has talking tools. This will do the job, I guess - there's room in the back for my Britax Prince seat and I can't reach to kick the back of Daddy's chair - so that keeps him quiet. I wish he'd turn down the radio, though - it's hard enough to hear my Sesame Street DVDs (Nana bought me a DVD player for long trips) over the road noise even when Daddy's not blaring his terrible music..

Boot space is big enough, but i wouldn't be buying one if you had one or two kids and buggies and the likes. It's not really big enough for that. Definitely big enough for loads of shopping bags! :) Fairly cheap cars to maintain, i deal with the guys in Otto in Tallaght (Ciaran specifically-great lad)for any parts and usually have them fitted by Foster Motors. Never had any trouble with the car, only ever had to service her to date. Orange peel in the paint, resprays can be done so cheaply and ruin the cars appearance, same with panels on the car that are dull. People tampering with the turbo and dump valve, timing belt, tyres, damaged alloys, and service history. I would only buy off an SIMI approved dealer to be honest. I think that because there are so many second hand cars out there now, people have to be more vigilant now than ever before. People can afford to shop around! I bought a black 5 door mark IV GTI, manual, last August privately, from a guy advertising on CBG. It is the third hatchback German car i have bought (S3 and Mini Cooper S before that) and i would never buy anything but a German car in the future either. Simply better quality cars! The Golf has full cream leather Recaro's, and only 73k miles, full VW service history and Mark IV R32 wheels. She honestly drives like a new car.I love her! If your looking for a fun, cheap and cheeful second hand car, this is definitely the one to get!.

not much, but it so much fun you wont care. you can get every part and accessory on ebay panel damage, They gears can get notchy but this is a common fault in the early models no experience i do most of the work on the car myself The MX5 was listed in the 2000 Guiness Book of Records for being the best selling 2 seat convertible in History. With its Front engine, Rear wheel drive, Four wheel independent suspension and lucky my JDM imported version came with a limited slip differential (for driving sideways!!!).These cars weigh just under a ton so the 1.6 engine has more than enough power to have a lot of fun with, particularly on secondary roads and its almost perfect 50/50 weight front/rear weight distribution only ads to the old school feel and drive. I would recommend buying the mark 1 Japanese Domestic Market imported 1.6 version with the limited slip differential..

Coming back from a recent trip to France we managed to get in a large buggy, a travel cot, a reasonably big wheeled suitcase, an overnight bag, a laptop bag and a dozen bottles of wine. No complaints here. Not quite enough room for all the shopping, too - but I think that says more about us than the Astra. Let's just move on. To be honest, it's well overdue a service - Mostly due to laziness on my part as the advertised rates seem quite reasonable at the moment. The previous owner kept the receipts, and nothing on them seemed outrageously expensive, nor were there any worryingly frequent or large-scale replacements or repairs. There seem to be a lot of very basic models out there. I can't help but wonder if I'd shopped around a bit more would I have got a few more bells and whistles (or at least somewhere to plug in my iPod.) Went to Airside Opel for this one. Absolutely first class. Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful - didn't follow us around the lot (this is a good thing), but were easy to find when we had questions. I'd definitely go back to them, and definitely recommend them. When I first bought my Astra a little over a year ago, I was looking at it as a step down. I had a Land Rover which had started making very worrying noises and only making it a month or two between services, and with a heavily pregnant wife I wanted something that could make it to the Rotunda without spraying metal parts all over the M1. So by necessity, came the Astra. Smaller, lighter, cheaper and, at least in this case, more reliable. And you know what? I've never looked back. I'm not going to say I don't look jealously at other cars - I work opposite a Jaguar garage after all - but it's a nice, basic car. There's good visibility all round, a tight turning circle, plenty of legroom and all the buttons are quite handily located. I bought the absolute most basic version - there's no aircon, a very basic stereo and a few other little blanking plates around the cockpit that make you wonder what you're missing out on. It's fairly nippy - I haven't worked out 0-100km/h times or anything, but unless you're carrying heavy loads and/or in a 'Fast and the Furious' style drag race, you probably won't have any complaints. We were looking at a few different cars at the time - the Ford Focus, Mazda 6, Peugeot 307 and the Battlestar Galactica version of the Honda Civic. The Astra was, at the time, the best we could do from a low mileage/low price point of view..

Loads - enough for shopping pre babies and for buggy post arrival. Never let me down once. Make sure it has heated seats. Really good - kid glove treatment. Oh my God - what a car. I was lucky enough to order this car new - back in the days of the Celtic tiger. And it was my baby. It's a beautiful driving and so, so comfortable. The seats were cream leather, dash was walnut. It had a 10 cd changer (which was very derigeur back in those days before ipods!). The heated seats, which were extra, were exactly what was required on cold winter mornings. I think this was my favourite car ever. Only downside were the 2 doors which made it incredibly difficult to get a baby car seat into the back - not something I thought of when I was getting it first......

Huge - you will fit everything in your house and more in this boot - so thumbs up there. No comment - except, the new Mondeo doesn't have a petrol or diesel cap. I know this because the first time I went to fill it I was all worried that I had somehow lost it (even though I had never touched it before) and I thought there is no way the dealer will believe that I didnt' lose it. Sooooooo, I went into a different Ford dealer (I know, seriously sad) and I asked if I could buy one. The guy then explained that they don't have caps! Not a clue. Actually, one thing. A better car. I guess the guy in the second Ford Dealership could have sold me a cap - so that is something positive? I was given this car as a replacement recently for a few weeks and I have to say, I just don't like it. It is a big monster of a car - massive boot, long, no huge bonnet. It requires a gi-normal parking spot and it has absolutely no pep. When I'm driving it I feel like thrusting back and forward to make it go faster. Seriously. I wouldn't buy one in a fit..

Really good - as a mum of 2, I have a double buggy, bags , gym gear and the weekly shop to accomodate in the boot and this car doesn't let me down. I have even done an airport run with 2 large suitcases, 2 mini ones and a travel cot and managed to squeeze them it. Don't know much about this really - it's never been broken ;0) No opinion here either - cos it was new. Fantastic guy looked after me - Larry Lawless in Murphy & Gunn, Rathgar in Dublin. He even dropped the car over to me when I got it. I have had bad experiences before with car dealers that have just spoken about the colour of the car to me but Larry was prepared to talk about just about everything. He also showed me the stuff that I didn't know about like if the door is open the car won't move! This is a gorgeous comfortable car. It has great pulling power and there is no problem over taking another vehicle. It is comfy for a long trip too. My one is automatic which makes it even better than a manual - you just sit back and enjoy. The car is pricey to fill (with petrol) but I think it is worth it. I recently had another car as a temporary replacement and didn't realise how much I liked it until it was gone! I couldn't wait to get it back and I coined a phrase - that every other car "is just not the 5". Don't hesitate if it is on your list..

The boot is very generous, packed it holds 430 Litres and thats plenty. As this was a press car I didn't have to worry about this thank God. Two types of people buy these cars, posers and serious trackday heads! The later means you must check for excessive wear on the tyres, steering wheel and just drive the car to make sure the suspensions is in good order. Be careful though, some of these cars get a hard life... No experience as it was just a test car. The first BMW I ever owned was an E30-shape 318i. It was a standard four-door model and I loved it. After this, I bought a mint E36-shape 320i. Powered by a seductive straight-six engine, this car was a pleasure to drive. It was the SE model, with full tan leather and all the gizmos. At the same time, my partner had an E36 318i, and it too was a lovely car, only somewhat soft compared to the big six-cylinder versions. This little story proves that I love my BMs, but ultimately the one to have was always the M3. I have been lucky enough to drive both the E36 and E46 variants, but never the old-school, left-hand drive E30. It was the benchmark and the one that kicked off the M3 bloodline with its pure pedigree. If any readers know where I could get my mitts on one, please send me an e-mail! So what have I got today then? Well, I have two of the three variants of the new E92-shape M3: the two-door coupé and the all-new four-door version. Gone is the now-famous 3.2-litre straight six, and in its place we have a stonking, super-lightweight, high-revving, 4.0-litre V8. The purpose of this new powerplant is obviously to bring it in line with its competitors: the Audi RS4, the Mercedes C63 AMG and the latest arrival from Lexus, the IS-F. It packs an unmerciful punch with its 414bhp, and will sprint to 100km/h in just 4.7 seconds. The coupé version has a beautiful, sleek design, with a carbon-fibre roof and those trademark side vents and bonnet bulge, and the four-door doesn’t look half bad either. To the rear, the four tail pipes peer out, and they cause little or no drama until you rev it past 4,500rpm, which is when all hell breaks loose. It’s so loud that you can move cars into the slow lane on the motorway by just touching the clutch and giving it a quick bark. The four-door M3 is not completely new to the BMW range, as there was a very limited production run of E36 four-door models back in the mid ’90s. These didn’t sell terribly well in Europe, with most buyers opting for the coupé version with its somewhat sleeker lines. The new four-door is very different, though. It’s like a baby M5, and mirrors its big brother’s understated look. Driving the coupé for a week, I noticed respect came more from the younger generation aged from 20 to 30, whilst the following week, the four-door was admired more by businessmen ranging from 30 to 45. I found that interesting, but I suppose these are the markets BMW is after. The cabriolet will sit somewhere in between, giving the M3 buyer lots of choice. The big questions are, what was it like to live with, how expensive was it to run and did it handle as well as previous models? This is what fascinated me after reading so many other journalists’ reports on this car. 90 percent say it’s good, but that it has lost the ‘M’ factor and is not as exciting as its predecessors. How wrong they all are! Every E36 M3 I drove, I loved, but I spent more time trying to keep it out of the ditches than enjoying the drive. It was very fast, but also tricky at the edge. They swap ends almost with out notice, and suddenly you find yourself looking back where you came from! The E46 M3 was better – a lot better. It was tight, refined and amazing to drive. It spoke to the driver constantly and felt planted at all times. Of course, you could also be a complete loon if you wanted to. My only regret is I never got to drive a manual version. The E46 I drove had the SMG box, which at the time was cutting-edge, but now seems slow in comparison to the latest DSG boxes. Both of the M3s that I had were good old manuals, and they felt perfect. The clutch is slightly heavy, but it’s a small price to pay for such performance. When you sit in, you are cocooned in some of the finest leather money can buy. The seats are fully electric and the driving position is perfect. The steering wheel is chunky, with the BMW M Racing Division badge and buttons to control the phone, radio and power delivery. The dash is clea.

Going away in this car is a problem unless you’ve tailored travel bags, there is small storage space on the back seats and enough room for a “carry on” type bag in the front boot. If you’re going away for the weekend with your honey baby, this ain’t the car for a girl with a sweet of J Lo esque suit cases....luckily that hasn’t been too much of a problem! Probably the most annoying thing about this car is it’s ability to go through tyres and the cost to replace them. They’re a low profile Michelin tyre which when new have unbelievable grip, however that goes very quickly. You’ll be replacing them every year 20,000km at least and if you buy them in Dublin, you’ll pay almost €2,000 for the set, drive up the north to www.alloywheelni.com and you’ll get the exact same set for €1,200. When replacing the brakes, Porsche won’t allow you to replace just the pads, they’ll insist on you replacing the discs even if the wear is only slight, they say it’s a safety issue. This increases the price of a simple set of brake pad from €300 to €1,500. Apart from those items, the car never gives trouble, I can honestly say that I’ve never broken down, the car starts first time, every time so 100% on reliability. Does it have a tracker already fitted NCT’d Tyres as they are expensive to replace Heated seats are a real plus Stereo upgrade is a must These are a hard car to resell so stay away from tatty ones.....even at the money Smokey engines are never a good sign but in a 911 run a mile I bought from the official dealer in Dublin, the experience was very average, calls not returned and a bit sloppy in general. Not sure would I buy from them again. I’ve owned 3 Porsches, a Boxster and two 911’s, the 911 I’m driving now is a C4S bought from new in 06 (the 998 serious). The car itself is awesome, drives as a Porsche should, plenty of power just when you need it and all the refinements you’d expect. I’ve almost done 70,000km, it’s used as my every day car and as it’s tip-tronic, it’s effortless to drive. My previous one was manual which is more cumbersome to drive in town, wouldn’t buy a manual again. When I bought it new, I got a long list of extras some of which on reflection weren’t worth the extra spend, the Sports Chromo Pack is a complete waste of money unless you intent to race it, also the Porsche in car phone system is rubbish, it requires you to take your sim card out of your phone and put it into to the car each time you get in, a waste of time. Porsche also refused to give me an iPod connection for the stereo. Sports exhaust makes the car sound great (even louder) but in reality I only ever use it to show people what it sounds like, same story with the sports suspension, yes if you want to race it but on a normal road it’s no fun. Heated seats are top class as is the upgraded stereo system, both worth every penny and if your buying a used one, make sure they have them! You won’t get insurance on this car unless you have a tracker, worth thinking about when buying as it’s another €1,000 to have it installed and another €200 per year to be monitored..

To me its very funny, because i have had 16 Audi's and several VW's in the past. I never thought Skoda's were a pile of rubbish, i just didn't think they had the quality of a Audi or the strength of a VW. I was shocked, to find the attention to detail BETTER than an Audi and the solidness of a VW. The interior is out of a Passat, but little touches like the chrome surrounds to the airvents, and the sexy door handels really put these cars into a league of there own. I have the Sat Nav plus, and its the same as the Audi system. So to sum up its very well made with nice touchy plastic, esquiset fuel economy with fabuluse performance, roomy, good looking, easy & cheap to run and above all, very funny. Reason, its owned by Audi and VW,skoda have built a better car than VW or Audi, what does that tel us, well, It's a Skoda, Honest..

Paid 4500 euro for 2005 colt with 35K miles. For the money nothing comes close. The engine is a lively thing, 1.1 L with 74BHP and a 0-60 MPH of 13.4 ,quite perky, good acceleration in gears especially 3rd. Soft-ish clutch, nice and easy to work. Brakes are reassuring and progressive. Steering wheel has nice feel to it, bit lifeless but easy to use. Snappy gearbox. Clever seating adjustments, 60/40 split, you can slide the backseats forewards and backwards they can be removed turning the colt into a sort of mini van with close to 650L bootspace. Nice large mirrors. Very good heater controls, its very strong at both cooling and warming. Spacious cabin good durable plastics for the money. people 6ft should fit in front and back. Good head and leg room. Adjustable seats, rear and front seats can recline. Drivers seat doesnt adjust for height, but im only 5 8” and its fine for me. Ride is comfortable over short distances, dont know about longer ones though.. 4 star Ncap, 3 propper 3 point seatbelts in back, ABS brakes. CD player, trip computer, clever coin holder in glovebox, 3 cup holders plus space for nick nacks all around. All in all a great car for the money, seems its not as well known as the typical superminis, fiesta/micra/corsa etc, therefore its a cheap used buy..

Since november 2008 I have covered 20,000 miles in my S60 D5 Sport, thats an average of 1,000 mls a week and thats fairly hard driving too.The car is brilliant. I defy any merc or BMW (of which I've had two) to do this with a clean record! Economy is also fantastic (manual 5 speed). Easy driving will return mid 50's and more with no problem, and even pushing on hard (cruising 85-100mph) you'll see mid 40's. The only drawback is road holding on the limit. A 3 or 5 series will keep it's composure longer in tight fast cornering but this really wont affect 95% of people in real world driving. It's a cheap car to service if you use an indy, T-belt at almost 100k, great stereo and loaded with equipment AND great value! Germany take note! I'm very happy with this car..

The Passenger Cabin is quite 'tight' Tall pasengers(anyone over 5ft 9ins) will feel abit cramped and claustraphobic as the Sunroof knocks a good 3 inches off the interior headroom. Also only 2 passengers can travel in comfort in the rear as the 'bump' in the middle is most uncomfortable to sit on even for a minute let alone on a car journey (if you have kids forget it), and the already tight headroom inthe rear is even less. The LowProfile wheels are not practical for Irish Rural Roads. (Fine on Motorways and roads with smooth tarmac). A lot of thumping and wheel shudder can be felt, as the suspension cant cope. The GEARBOX ratios are all wrongly spaced. And you will noticed this after driving, say, a AUDI or BMW. And may explain the poor fuel economy. This is disappointing as you would expect a high degree of refinement in a Executive brand such as LEXUS, to go with its image of Quality, Engineering, and Style. In fact if you were thinking of buying a 220d DONT! BUY THE NEW AVENSIS. Practically the same car (smaller Lexus)and for less money !!.

I gave Audi a chance to compete with my other Honda + Toyata cars, but it was no match. Go japanize if you need a car that runs forever. Forget german or american, a joke..

Great value for money and they are grand cars for getting around in even on longer trips. Low running costs and seems to just keep on going. Great cars! I upgraded to a 07 Polo comfortline and must say its great - the poor mans version of the new Golf. Love it!.

Good run about, performs well in all road conditions however I found it wanting a lot of petrol, a lot of people comment on it being economical, although it is not bad it is bad for a 1.3. Later Skodas are much better e.g. Fabia.

The 1600 petrol is underpowered and a bit noisy when pushed. But overall it is a very solid and comfortable car to drive..

These cars are terrible and the dealers know it but the image is false of a 'safe' car. These cars (2000 models) can cut out at high speed in the fast lanes of motorways, which is what happened to me twice. Very scary. The cars shouldn't be on the roads. The Americans handled it right - recall them all and sort them out before people are killed.
